    Angels (68-49) vs. Phillies (53-66)

    Game 1 7:05 pm

    C.J. Wilson (IP 123.1 ERA 4.82 FIP 4.37 WHIP 1.40)

Wilson's start on Thursday was better than his previous ones, but still not up to par for the Angels' No. 2 starter. He pitched into the sixth inning and gave up four runs on six hits and four walks. Wilson has a 11.03 ERA in his last six starts.
    vs.

Jerome Williams (IP 57.2 ERA 6.71 FIP 4.33 WHIP 1.67)

Williams will make his Phillies debut when he takes on the Angels. In his last start for the Rangers on Aug. 1, the 32-year-old allowed 10 runs on 13 hits in four innings, prompting his release from the club.

    Game 2 7:05 pm

Jered Weaver (IP 156.1 ERA 3.68 FIP 4.19 WHIP 1.19)

Weaver suffered his first loss in nearly two months Friday, when he allowed four runs on seven hits across six innings in a loss to the Red Sox. The Angels are still 8-2 in Weaver's last 10 starts, in which the 31-year-old righty has a 3.71 ERA.
    vs.

    A.J. Burnett (IP 157.1 ERA 4.29 FIP 4.08 WHIP 1.41)

Burnett is 4-11 with a 5.15 ERA in his last 18 starts after allowing 11 hits, five runs and striking out eight in six innings Friday in a loss to the Mets. He has a 6.66 ERA in five starts since the All-Star break.

Does Wilson think this a soccer game? The dude is literally trying to kick the baseball. And he's flinging his legs all over the place after he throws his pitches. Someone slap this guy.

He's a 3-4 starter at best. He has almost no control of the strike zone. Guys who throw over 100 pitches in 6 innings are trash.

I'm still just in shock that he was trying to kick a baseball. That's mind boggling to me and just utter stupidity.

Gotta love how our 3,4, and 5 hitters have OBP's barely hovering over .300. That's always something to brag about.

and despite all of that were still only 2.5 back. I can see the Angels snapping out of their slump...I cant see the A's turning on an offense that doesn't exist.

It is pretty crazy we are only 2.5 back. We have Texas (with no Darvish again) coming up and we need to take advantage. The A's play one more in KC and then head to Atlanta to face some good pitching, even though the Braves are playing like poo poo.

Calhoun carrying the team at the moment needs a triple for the cycle
