Should the playoffs format be top 16 teams? (top W/L)

Just look at the east this year. Why even have an eastern conference playoffs? Just give the Cavaliers a bye to the nba finals.

and just think.. how many free wins a team get from playing in the east.

No, doesn't make sense for the league in regards to travel, exposure, rivalries or marketability.

Then you'd have to make Western teams play Eastern teams just as much as each other.

    absolutely.

the failure and incompetence of eastern conference management should have zero impact on free agency. when players are specifically avoiding the west or wanting to go east because of how stacked the west is and how mediocre the east is, it's a problem. air travel is no longer a decent excuse, the league might eventually agree since they just changed the finals back to the "less practical" 2-2-1-1-1.

If I'm a western conference owner, I push for this strong in the next CBA.

Some years one conference is stronger than the other. I vote no because it gets so complicated and takes away from division and conference games.

no way, you don't change everything just because of a weak era for the east. THat's part of sports... things aren't always equal.

Look at baseball, the AL east used to have powerhouses every year, teams winning 92-95 games and not making the postseason... now look at it... should we change the format every time something changes?

You want teams flying coast to coast in every round of the playoffs? Thats lunacy...

maybe in 5-10 years the East will be stacked and the West won't be. I mean Duncan and the Spurs are getting old, Dirk has a few years left, and Love just went out East.

lol no. the east is improving and no its not a free ride for the Cavs despite Indy losing PG. its by no means a free run for the cavs, not even close. the east is on its way back in the longterm too with Love now coming over and potentially KD in a few years. not to mention teams iike the Sixers and Magic building with solid young squads.

    RETURN OF THE MAC

    Yeah, they should change it.
    Favourite Teams:

Boston Red Sox: 63-80, games this week vs. Orioles (3), Royals (4)
Indianapolis Colts: 0-1, Week 2 vs. Eagles
Minnesota Timberwolves: New team, hoping for good things this season.
Ottawa Senators: 37-31-14, season over, free agency begins this week.

    yes
it would make the nba much more entertaining
    keep scheduling the same though
imagine the battles those middle of the playoff teams would have when 1 win separates like 8 different teams
the best team in the league during the regular season should be its own trophy
would probably need a different kind of lottery system though

    1 san antonio
    2 okc
    3 clippers
    4 chicago
    5 clevland
    6 portland
    7 golden state
    8 dallas
    9 toronto
    10 houston
    11 memphis
    12 washington
    13 charlotte
    14 phoenix
    15 denver
    16 atlanta
    17 newyork
    18 new orleans
    19 brooklyn
    20 lakers
    21 indiana
    22 sacramento
    23 milwaukee
etc would be very tight all throughout

Was only a matter of time before bandwagon Cavalier fans would ruin this site like the Heat fans did
