I love all the trade talk about.........

Getting rid of Murphy, yet Granderson is hitting just .222 and not a word said. He's a slug. I wouldn't complain if he was at least batting .250

Grandy hit over .250 once in the last 6 years, you were expecting the wrong player
The Michigan team bus was stuck outside Notre Dame stadium for hours after somebody painted a 20 yard line in the parking lot

He's slumping bad right now, but he'll turn it around. The AS Break seems to have cooled him down drastically.

But Granderson is not a high average guy, his value comes from drawing walks, hitting for power, playing solid OF defense, and running the bases well.

We don't use AVG nowadays to evaluate player production.
"The 90 wins is about challenge. It's about changing the conversation. It's about framing questions for ourselves as to how we get there. So I stand by the notion that we need to get better, and in doing so we need to set concrete goals for ourselves so that we have sort of specific conversations among ourselves about how we're going to get there." -- Mr. Alderson

Dude, if he's such a slug, who are you going to find willing to give up prospects and take on $45MM over the next 3 years?

Your appeal to reason insults me, sir. I demand you take it back at once, and never speak to me sensibly again!

Because no team is dumb enough to take on Granderson's contract, let alone give up an asset in the process. Murphy on the other hand is blocking Herrera (who will likely replicate Murph's production at a fraction of the cost, thus freeing up that $ to be spent elsewhere), and we could get back good prospects in the process.

So Herrera is going to step in and be the hitting machine that Murph has proven to be? Let me know when he leads the league in hits. Or are we not counting that stat any more?
