Red Sox (49-62) at Cardinals (59-51) July 5-7

Boston Red Sox @ St. Louis Cardinals
Tuesday, August 5, 7:15 PM CDT , Busch Stadium

    Rubby De La Rosa, RHP

The righty will make his 10th start of the season after losing to the Blue Jays his last two times out. Opponents are hitting .265 against him. De La Rosa is 0-3 in four road starts.
    Lance Lynn, RHP

Lynn's ERA is below 3.00 for the second time in 2014 after he went six-plus innings with no more than two runs allowed in five July starts. He hasn't finished seven innings since June 23 but continues to prove himself as top-of-the-rotation ready.
Wednesday, August 6, 7:15 PM CDT , Busch Stadium
    Joe Kelly, RHP

Kelly will make his first start for the Red Sox against the team that traded him last week. He is 9-7 with a 2.90 ERA lifetime at Busch Stadium. This is Kelly's eighth start of the season.
    Shelby Miller, RHP

Since returning from an extended period of rest, Miller has looked strong in two starts. He did not walk a batter in either after walking at least one in 20 outings this season. Efficiency remains the key for Miller, who is looking to pitch deeper.
Thursday, August 7, 6:15 PM CDT , Busch Stadium
    Brandon Workman, RHP

Workman will try to get untracked after losing his last four starts. Last time out, he gave up two earned runs over five innings. Workman has limited opponents to a .223 average.
    Adam Wainwright, RHP

Wainwright has been chased early in two of his last three starts, uncharacteristic for the usually durable ace. Over his last three starts, he has allowed 11 runs on 20 hits in 17 innings. Seven of those runs came on Friday against the Brewers.

I still think trading Kelly will come back to bite us. Just a feeling.

I don't think so. He was already our worst starter and we added a better one +Masterson who when healthy is better

Pierzynski and Lackey's edge apparently rubbing off. I've never seen the usually mellow Holliday react like that

Nice job by Pierzynski-Taveras-Jay there. Got hits off one of baseballs better relievers to give us a lead

Just need Rosenthal to hold it

He's thrown a lot of pitches this year. That worries me for later

Rosenthal definitely has been throwing harder. Even though a couple guys hit the ball hard, he has been routinely above 96, and mostly around 97. Which was a concern for some people, myself included, early on, hopefully this ends that

He got called out on strikes on a low pitch but I think what set him off was the pitch before was a ball and called a strike and when he got called on a consecutive outside the zone pitch he snapped

He slammed the bat down and you could hear him scream "No Way!". It was unprofessional but I loved seeing the much needed edge

Lmao I saw it on mlb highlights

    "No way! That's terrible!"

Good for him though. It was a tight, 2-2 game and he's showing some heart and emotion. Not going to get suspended so no harm no foul in my opinion
