7th Annual PSD Player Rankings #2 SG In The NBA? (Volume: VII)

Hey guys, It is that time of year again! Once again we kick of the PSD NBA Off-Season Player Rankings. This is the 7th year I have done this on PSD and it typically always makes for good deabte and often initates terrific discussion. Consider that when these polls first began, the likes of Baron Davis and Devin Harris were cracking these polls. Which player will you rank high this year that may get some raised eyebrows as the years pass by? Only time will tell. Please keep things civil and discuss who you feel is most fitting and deserving of being voted in each poll.

A lot has changed since last season. Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs are NBA champions for the 5th time after getting some revenge for their finals loss last season to the Heat. We could be looking at the end of the big 3 era.

Let start the discussion since lots has changed since the start of last season. Please TRY AND VOTE FOR THE BEST PLAYER AND DON'T BE A HOMER. I will leave the poll open for one day and than we can carry on to the next best player at that position. I will add more players after each round. I have also included the results of those last 6 years so everyone can see how much things have changed...Enjoy.

For a player to be eligible for this years poll, they must of played in a minimum of 10 games.

REMEMBER this is based on who is the best player, not the player who has the potential to be the best. Though we do recognize that some voters will vote based soley on potential and others by last years numbers.

Kobe is not on the poll because he did not play the minimum amount of games.

Even though he has regressed, Wade is still the next off the board after Harden.

Lance Stephenson for me. But I can see an argument for Klay Thompson as well.

Goran. I'm very comfortable with that vote. Wade can't stay healthy, and even when he was he wasn't nearly as good as Dragic. Lance ain't a #1 option. Kobe isn't a choice. Klay is just a catch and shoot 3-and-D player...which is useful, but nothing you build a team around. Gimme Dragic, easily.
I no longer care about anything here except for the Entertainment Forum, which sucks; the Music forum, which sucks; and the Magic forum, which does NOT suck.

    Love y'all!

    Except for all of y'all.

    Wade
    Derozan
    Dragic
    Ellis
    Stephenson
    Beal

are all better than Thompson. Klay has one of if not the lowest usage of starting SG's

    Just a great shooter.

First of all, why isn't Afflalo on the list?

LOL... Ellis is overrated, Klay was superior to Ellis in his rookie season. Klay is better than Beal. DeRozan scores more but isn't anywhere near as good defensively or in terms of shooting the ball.

And FYI, Klay is more than just a shooter, he's a high caliber defender and out performed Iguodala on that side of the floor for stretches last season. He can also finish at the rim well, he just seems hesitant and prefers to shoot, hopefully that changes with the new coaching

And his usage rate being so low is a good thing, imagine his numbers if that was higher.

I don't agree with Dragic being on this poll, he's better than all of them but he's a point man in my mind.

DeRozan, Stephenson and Ellis are all becoming overrated imho. In saying that, Lance might have a big year now that he's in Charlotte.

Wes Mathews is incredibly underrated, I hope he makes the top five.

My top 5/6 based on last season would have been something like; Harden, Ginobili, Thompson, DeRozan, Hayward and Afflalo with Wes and Vince just missing the cut. Dragic is better than all of those guys but I still say he's a point.

Some things have changed, but for my second pick I probably would have went with Ginobili or maybe Afflalo.

Instead, I'm going with Klay. Because I'm a homer, so what, go **** yourself.

Even putting Klay Thompson in this discussion is ridiculous. He is top 10 but near the bottom of this list.

IMO, it's still wade, but I think he's due for a fall this year. He won't have Lebron there anymore to mask his playing time/intensity. He'll have to go full on more and more and that means that his body won't get the rest it need s to put up the numbers he was putting up.
