    San Antonio Raiders?

    Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport)

Report: Raiders owner Mark Davis met with San Antonio officials about moving team

I don't know how Raider fans there on this board but kind of surprised no one has mention it. I know for a fact S.A. Has a ton of NFL fans (mostly Cowboys fans) and they could definitely support an NFL team. They would also vote to build a new stadium in a heartbeat. I know it's a long shot but the possibility is there that the Raiders would
    move.

This doesn't make much sense to me. LA is bound to get a team and the Raiders make a lot of sense since LA is mostly Raider fans. I guess any way they can get themselves a new stadium because theirs is a dump.

you talk about abandoning a fanbase...this would be nothing short of disgusting
....pleasing the casual fan, while telling the hardcore fan to go to hell since 2006

It wouldn't be the first time the Raiders have done this (although obviously not as extreme). They abandoned the Oakland fans when they moved to LA. Then abandoned the LA fans when they moved back to Oakland. To be fair though they have been trying to get a new stadium for at very least the last 20 years. Damn near every team in the NFL has got a new stadium during that time and yet both Oakland and LA keep voting down a new stadium. So you could look at it as the fan base turning their back on the team.

    San Antonio Raiders?

I would be pretty bummed actually. Best case scenario would obviously be ideal but just doesn't seem likely at all unfortunately. Shame because LA/Bay Area rivalries are pretty awesome right now. Dodgers/giants, clippers/warriors, kings/sharks. Niner fans already hate the raiders and would hate them even more if they moved to LA.

I would love it! San Antonio has been a city on the rise and the Spurs fans has been amazing. San Antonio is the 7th most populated city in the U.S. plus those colors will mesh good with the Spurs colors.

    San Antonio Raiders?

They're not fundamentally sound enough to play in SA.

He does have a point. How do you get people in a new city excited for a team that sucks? *

It's not specific to San Antonio and the Raiders though. Raiders could be good again in a few years, which would make it easier to attract a new fan base at a new location.

While not one of the ancient franchises like the Packers, Bears, Giants, they have been around since 1960. Most think of them as an ancient franchise. They have too much history, too much tradition to make a move like that. A team like the Jags, sure.

Would ya believe the Raiders were almost called the Senors? The San Antonio Senors, hmmmmmm?

The Raiders, however, also have a history of moving to another city and desperately trying to get an appropriate stadium.

Not almost. The Senors name was suggested/discussed and quickly rejected.
