    Jays Acquire Danny Valencia (3B)

    SportsCentre ‏@SportsCentre 7m

#BlueJays acquire IF Danny Valencia from the Kansas City Royals for RHP Liam Hendriks and C Erik Kratz #TSN
Great move IMO.. The guy has a career .860 OPS vs. lefties and can play 3B

Didn't cost us anything of value and should give us more options for the time being

    props to vick27m

I like it, gives us a much more rounded bench.

I mean hes pretty much an identical player to Tollesen but he should help for the time being while EE and Lawrie are out

    props to vick27m

I don't think we should have given up two players. Kratz and him have pretty equal career value and Kratz plays the tougher position. If anything it should have been a lower tiered prospect. But you do what you gotta do to get the player you want. Hendricks doesn't break the bank by any means, so I'm not upset about it, just an observation.

I know he is. Was just pointing out how ugly it is against righties. If he's not a platooner, then AA is a dummy.

Better than having Goins for sure

come on you can't be upset about that..

Like you said we already saw what Hendriks can do and its pretty bad. As for Kratz, he was getting called up to help us against lefties and he did a horrible job of it

Navarro is the starting catcher and Thole catches Dickey. Not the greatest combo but it is what we've been going with most of the season and it hasn't been a huge issue

    props to vick27m

Hendricks sucks and Krayz is fair at best. We traded from a position of strength to pick up a player in a position in need. I like it, as minor as it may be.

And besides, this platoon system Gibbys using has been working pretty effectively. This is a good move IMO.
