Neil Ramirez optioned to AAA, Blake Parker to MLB

In a bit of a head-scratching move, the Cubs demote their best reliever to Triple-A. They want to play things cautiously with the workload that the young right-hander shoulders this season, but the 25-year-old has been outstanding with a 0.96 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 36/10 K/BB ratio over his 28 innings of work.

He'll take the place of Neil Ramirez in the Cubs bullpen. The Cubs needed another arm that was capable of working multiple innings, and Parker fits the bill. He owns a 9.53 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and 3/2 K/BB ratio over his 5 2/3 innings with the club this season.
    No apparent reason was given.

As I wrote in the piece, giving Ramirez a breather makes sense to me. Starting the process of stretching him back out could also make sense.
Pretty much sums it up. I think it's more likely we're gonna stretch him out which is exciting.

Because he's been shelled in 9 IP in AAA thus far. He's not ready.

I tend to think, when the best reliever on the team gets optioned to AAA Iowa, it's a safe bet that there's a good reason. Relax, friends.
    Yep.

And also Blake Parker is good. He shouldn't be in AAA to begin with.

Everything I've seen says that he needs a "breather". I'm sure he's gonna get stretched out.

Kinda mad Riviero isn't the one though
    Thanks JO-MO

What makes me kinda mad is how we leave good relievers like Parker and Rivero in AAA while crap like Villanueva and Schlitter sits on our ML roster.
    On Cam Newton:

Schlitter's not bad. If you can rock a 58 percent GB%, that's awesome. Villanueva is crap. Grimm is meh.
