Angels Close To Acquiring Huston Street

The sides are indeed close, with second base prospect Taylor Lindsey expected to be part of the return to San Diego, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (Twitter links). Medicals have been exchanged, Rosenthal adds, which is obviously one of the final steps to a swap.
A deal could happen tonight, with talks currently at a “sensitive” stage, according to Scott Miller of Bleacher Report (via Twitter).
The sides are “getting closer” on a deal involving Street, but still have ground to cover, tweets Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports.
This will make our bullpen very deadly

    CL Street
    SU Smith
    SU Morin
    MR Jepsen
    MR Grilli
    MR Thatcher
    MR Salas

I also do not mind giving up Lindsey. Second base is our deepest position in our organization. Kendrick in the Majors. Green up and down between the Majors and Triple-A. Lindsey in Triple-A (struggling). Yarbrough in Double-A. I would just hope it wasn't much more.

Thats alot to give up...but a position that is always a weakness for us for a very solid legitimate closer. Our bullpen has been fantastic and that would only solidify it and turn a perceived weakness into one of our strongest areas on this team. I would welcome that move with open arms.

A deal is being finalized to send Street to the Angels, tweets Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.
Street has been better on the road than at Petco this season.

Package going from #Angels to #Padres for Street is expected to be Lindsey plus at least one other player.
In Street talks, Padres said to like 2B Taylor Lindsey and RHP RJ Alvarez.
I hope we don't trade Alvarez

The bullpen the last month had an era of 1.77 adding Street will make us imo the best bullpen, still think we need to add a starter as well with the inconsistencies of Wilson and Skaggs.

It would be nice to get a starter because Wilson and Skaggs are pretty inconsistent, but we would have to give up too much.

We gave up way too much Rondon, Alvarez, and Lindsey. Plus one more

They better be giving us a good prospect

We got right hand pitcher Trever Gott, currently in double A.

Taylor Lindsey and Elliot Morris would have been more than enough. Then you add in Alvarez and Rondon. I don't like it at all.

I agree. I mean, yea it makes us a better major league ball club as of now. But that's a lot of top prospects to give away for an already terrible farm system.

I agree about our farm system but I don't feel like we gave up to much. Lindsey is good but is at a position where we have a log jam and probably never would of got a shot or forced to move positions. The reliever we received in return is a very very slight downgrade from alveraz. The one that hurts for me is Rondon, he could be a big time prospect but he's so far away from the big show who knows what player he could be truly.

All I heard about Alvarez is that he is extremely wild ??? Rondon is potentially a solid SS but it he is likely 3-4 years away at least. Lindsey profiles as an above average bat at 2b as well but as mentioned 2b is a position of depth. The fact that it took so many prospect actually says it all.. None of them are future studs.

What's nice is Halos should be able to shorten games now. CJ and Skaggs now just need to get to the 6th inning and we should have a decent shot and staying in games.

With Thatcher as a lefty specialist and:

    Salas, Grilli & Morin - 6/7

    Jepsen & Smith - 7/8

    Street - 9
    Angels::
    Lakers:
    Rams:::
    OSU Beavers (Football):

They gave up Rondon? What the hell? Why wasn't Ian Kennedy included?

Well good for them raping this team.
Who are they going to give back? Casey Kelly.

That dosen't justify giving up all of that for half a season of a reliever.

    Team option for 2015.
