    Cardinals (52-44) vs. Dodgers (54-43) July 18-20

Los Angeles Dodgers @ St. Louis Cardinals

Friday, July 18, 7:15 PM CDT , Busch Stadium

    Dan Haren, RHP

Haren threw his shortest outing of the year his last time out, allowing four runs in four-plus innings in a second straight rough start. He's allowed 17 home runs in his last 12 starts. With a sub-90 mph fastball, his success depends on location.
    Lance Lynn, RHP

Lynn will lead the Cardinals into the second half of the season after last pitching July 9. In his past two outings, Lynn has pitched 13 1/3 innings, allowing two runs. In all, 11 of Lynn's 19 appearances this season have been quality starts.
Saturday, July 19, 3:05 PM CDT , Busch Stadium

    Zack Greinke, RHP

Greinke pitched well enough to win against the Tigers, allowing three runs in seven innings, but he was out-dueled by a dominant Max Scherzer. The All-Star right-hander is 9-3 with a 2.93 ERA against the Cardinals in his career and beat them June 28.
    Joe Kelly, RHP
Kelly's return from the disabled list July 11 after missing most of the first half with a strained left hamstring didn't go according to plan. The right-hander lasted only three innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks.
Sunday, July 20, 7:05 PM CDT , Busch Stadium

    Clayton Kershaw, LHP

Kershaw snapped his scoreless streak at 41 innings last Thursday but still delivered an exceptional outing against the Padres. He allowed one run in a complete game, winning his eighth straight start. His ERA in that eight-game winning streak: 0.74.
    Carlos Martinez, RHP

For the first time in six starts this season, Martinez's outing last Sunday ended in a Cards loss as he surrendered four runs in four frames. As a starter, Martinez has a 4.13 ERA in 28 1/3 innings and has lasted six innings just once.

I like for once not to allow late inning runs when we have a multiple run lead it's scary as hell lol

Shelby to the bullpen and we go to a 4 man rotation is interesting

I don't think so. I think it's about getting Miller rest and also keeping the best 4 pitchers you have out when you are at a critical time to gain games vs the brewers

I really think all it is is Miller has been injured several times lately with a sore back such. I think they see this as a opportunity to 1. Rest him 2. Get him healthy 3. Keep him working on his secondary pitches.

He's not really hurt enough to be disabled but he could definitely used the extra rest

It should still be high IMO just maybe not what it was before the season. I could see him being in a package. The ability is still there, it just needs to get better now

i sense sarcasm on the joe kelly comment lmfao. Joe is a solid pitcher but wouldn't go that far. Great series so far to start off the second half of the season.
