Hypothetically if the Mets were to acquire a Cub's SS...

Who would you want? (This doesn't have to be by this trade deadline either)

I want Alcantara, followed by Castro. Alcantara seems like a stud and presumably costs the least in trade imo. A very solid piece that is overlooked because of Baez, Russell, and Castro.

Castro is next for me for given major league resume but obviously comes with the higher price tag in trade because of said resume, his age, and the team friendly deal.

So what say you fellow Met fans?

    FoC abstains.

    Courteously.

It all depends on what we'd have to give up. If we could get Alacantra for someone like Montero, I'd prefer that over giving up Wheeler for Baez or Russell.

I chose Russell but think Castro is more likely. At least he has an mlb resume and like it's been said, a team friendly contract. Though, it would properly cost wheeler but for me that's fine. As I've said, I like degrom better.

Russell or Baez, they are the hot girls in the group.
Castro and Alacantra are the plus size girls in the group.

    Some fans like heffers.

At shortstop? Wait a minute, what were we talking about again?

Alcantara might not have the ceiling the other guys do but he arguably has the best all around game of those guys. He's a good baserunner, steals a lot of bases, hits for power, has improved his plate discipline/walk rate, and PCL or not, the guy had 46 XBH in 89 games for Iowa. He's no slouch, as you know, given he was listed as a top 35 prospect by BA and John Sickels for midseason 2014.

I know you were joking but heffer is not the way I would describe Alcantara.

Castro. The only one of the bunch sitting in the all star dugout right now.

Who was it who pointed out Tejada's recent surge in OBP?

Only one guy is proven, I'll take Castro.

Take any over Tejada, unfortunately, I'm not a big fan

This is a cool thread. I voted Alacantra.

Baez won't stay at SS IMO.
Castro already is being paid and is inconsistent.
Russell is still a while away.
Alacantra can be the electric sparkplug we've been missing since Reyes and has all the tools to succeed and make an impact immediately.

Russell is to far away. Castro is a nice bat, but his laziness and errors make me dislike him.

It's either Alcantara or Baez for me. Alcantara can lead off for us and be dynamic, Baez has the upside of a middle of the order bat.

I normally like tools, but I think Baez's bat is special. So I'm going Baez.

That said, if the price for him is crazy, I have no problem nabbing Alcantara.

Castro is the sure bet, you know that you're getting a productive player with him. For what each guy would cost, I would prefer the proven player.
