Taking down the nets behind the field goal posts

That way fans behind the end zone have a chance at catching a game ball

    what do you think?

Untill a fan gets hit in the face with a ball and sues then they would bring back the fences.

Dont get be wrong would be cool to have a chance at a game but but just wont happen.

Would be awesome but you don't want fights to break out or some dummy getting whacked in the face.

The nets are in place to prevent possible riots. It's the same reason these celebrations have been toned down by the NFL and Rex Ryan was fined $75K for yelling at a fan. Do not provoke the crowd which can lead to riot and they outnumber security.

I was thinking baseball. I know they can't create a net everywhere. Duh lol there are scrambles and fights but how bad is it?

Either way they're not going to change this

Never underestimate how ****ed up some people in our society really are. Especially when alcohol is involved. 99/100 people would probably catch it and give it to a little kid or something, but its that one old douche that will do blackflips and run over anyone in his way just to get the ball.

Don't think fans sue when this happens in baseball. The person gets an autographed something, and they go about their business.

OTOH when that mullet rocking dude jumped from the stands to catch the miss years ago, that was absolutely unforgettable. One of the greatest catches in league history.

I can only imagine a preseason Jets/Giants night game with those winners.

From the NFLís perspective, itís a fan safety and crowd control issue: Fans could get hurt if people are pushing, shoving, leaping, jostling and fighting for thrown footballs. So the NFL discourages players from doing it. Players are, however, permitted to hand the ball to a fan in the first or second row if they can do so without causing a commotion.

I don't recall which game it was, but in 2012 Newton tried to give a ball to a kid after scoring a TD and some guy near the kid slapped the ball out of his hands. Some people are just douches and would ruin it for people.

**** that, I wouldn't give a kid an NFL ball if I caught it. I also wouldn't bulldoze through kids to get to it, but if I caught it, **** everyone else.

You know they take away all the balls that go into the stands right? Even the ones that the players throw in a TD celebration.
