Did the Mavericks have the best Summer out West? What tier are they now in?

Really like what they did. They still need a pg, but Chandler, Dirk, Parsons, and Monta is a strong top 4 out West.

They have arguably the 2nd best coach out West, so how far do they make it?

They are the only West team that's really made a move yet besides Houston.

I agree. Felton and Devin Harris are obviously a sub-par duo to run point with hopefully the Mavs continue to let Monta Ellis (who was phenomenal for them last year) and Chandler Parsons (who I believe can definitely handle a heavier load) grow as players. Tyson Chandler was terrible for the Knicks last season but I see a bounce back season for him playing alongside Dirk. I would call them a middle seed. I don't see them going on a playoff run (still like SAS/LAC/OKC/GSW more) but I was one of their biggest doubters the year they won the title so who knows.

I dont like the backcourt one bit. Not a big Monta fan and I think Dirk/Chandler are bound to age eventually. Parsons improving is their only hope IMO. I will miss watching their bench go to work on teams, they lost some very productive bench pieces.

They're still looking at a first round loss. They've made some gains, but they still have a good deal of flaws. Defense will be an issue. Health will be an issue. Depth might be an issue. Raymond Felton is an issue.
I no longer care about anything here except for the Entertainment Forum, which sucks; the Music forum, which sucks; and the Magic forum, which does NOT suck.

    Love y'all!

    Except for all of y'all.

Losing VC was big, and Felton isn't a very solid pg.

That being said, I think Parsons can have a huge impact on this team. He can handle the ball and can make plays for others. Interested to see a Parsons-Dirk P&R.

There one legit piece away from being serious contenders in the West….Cuban will work his magic

They still got a legit shot of beaten OKC, who should of been knocked out in the 1st if Randolph wasnt an idiot…and the clippers…two of the most overrated teams in the West

They did take the Spurs to game 7 and I think they improved their team. Losing Vince and Marion is big. Well see how Parsons steps up.

perimeter defense, back court and depth will be the Mavs problem next year.

they have a very nice starting five but the lost of VC, Calderon and maybe Trix will be felt.

    let's see how they do.

Will Dirk finally slow down this year? They got Felton but he's not better than Calderon. They got better but I don't think they have it in them to win.

I like what they did, and I'm one of the few who doesn't think parsons is overpaid.

But having no pg, and thinking chandler is still the kind of center that can hold it down himself...

Is just not going to work out. Tyson will be burned out in no time, and everytime felton is on the court you'll wonder why he's in the nba.

Both of this PGs are aging and declining.

    Monta is a borderline all-star

their new SF is an overpaid streaky shooter who's also a subpar defender

their PF is a declining superstar that's past his prime

and their Center is several years removed from his DPOY days

they have a good coach tho. i'm sure he'll be able to get this team to overachieve, but still a 1st round exit imo.

I guess that's why your team offered him a max deal.
