At the risk of channeling my inner 'Moosh'

Am I the only one who is REALLY excited about this team right now?

    FoC, I'm cautiously optimistic.

I want to see how well they do out of the gate after the AS break. If they go 8-2 or 7-3 I'll start believing.....

Most teams have these kinds of streaks sometime during the season. They now need to become consistent winners to contend. Nationals are a solid team. We're going to have to pull a 1973.

They're very hot right now on the backs of an especially productive offense but the question is how well does their offense continue to play? Their SP, even without a bonifide ace, has still been fairly solid. 59 quality starts (which is 5th in the majors) shows their SP at least keeps them in games. That's a big deal when it accounts for almost 2/3 of your starts so far this season.

All the teams in front of them in that category are over .500 and if the Mets had been hitting earlier and situated their bullpen sooner they might have been as well.

I'm really hoping it's the push they need to become buyers instead of sellers. Either way, it's been really fun to watch!

This team has been extremely fun to watch. How they come out of the AS break will set the tone for the rest of the season imo.

The problem with this team is that it can easily go 3-7 on the next road trip.

Ya know Dug, if the Mets get sustained production out od Duda and Tejada, world peace might be possible too.

Yes, it's really starting to look like a team you should add to rather than break up.

I'd be very interested in what we do at the deadline.

Well San Diego sucks. They should be able to take 2 or sweep them. As for the Mariners and Brewers, it's contingent on the offense still producing. It's a lot for some to ask them to go 8-2 or 7-3 in the next 10 after they just went 8-2 in their last 10 (not you) but i would take 6-4 or 5-5. The way the rest of this division is playing, that record might actually get them closer to 1st place.
