San Diego Padres (40-51) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (51-42)

    ...................................

San Diego Padres (40-51) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (51-42)

    Dodger Stadium

Game 1. Thursday, 7:10PM. Sports Net.

    Clayton Kershaw

Coming off a two-hitter over eight innings at Coors Field, the lefty puts his streak of 36 consecutive scoreless innings on the line against the Padres, It will be his final bid for the All-Star Game start.

Despaigne allowed one run on two hits over six innings the last time out vs. the Giants. In doing so, he became the first pitcher in club history to throw at least six innings and allow no more than one run in each of his first three career starts.

Game 2. Friday, 7:10PM. Sports Net.

    Dan Haren

Don Mattingly said he's been happy with Haren's ability to "keep us in the game." The right-hander allowed eight runs and two homers in his last start, but it came at Coors Field.

Hahn gave up three runs in the first three frames vs. San Francisco in his latest outing, as the Giants sat on his big 12-6 curve. The rookie right-hander adjusted though, at one point retiring 11 in a row while lasting seven frames.

I only have the first two because 1. Leaving for work and 2. They haven't released the starters for those games yet.

Winning 3/4 would be a huge momentum boost going into the AllStarBreak

I wonder who is going to pitch on Saturday? The obvious choice would be Maholm, but he just pitched 2.1IP on Tuesday.

    Red Patterson? ZLee? (no chance)

Maholm or Patterson will start Saturday, according to Mattingly. (Maholm took BP with the starters today)

I was hoping (or wishing rather) that Reed would be added to the 40 man roster and start Saturday, since that is his day to pitch, after Robinson's DFA left us short on the 40 man roster, but obviously not happening.

Crawford's back Robinson is gone, would have preferred Robinson over Triunfel.

Kershaw is just phenomenal. Sooooo glad we signed him to an extension. It's seriously baffling that he could still win the cy young award despite missing the first 6 weeks of the season. His numbers are just ridiculous given the circumstances.

The Padres are batting just .215 as a team this season. My goodness, they're awful.
