We should make a trade deadline thread and move this there probably (sorry haha).
Holy crap, if we could get Craig with Peavy as the main component I jump all over it.
Craig numbers been putrid this year. What's wrong with him?
Not sure, but he's still hitting lefties well. I'd say he is likely just in a funk. Carlos Santana similarly was and he's gone off recently to bring his line up significantly. A change of scenery may do just that for Craig.
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/0...peavy-sox.htmlMultiple reports today have indicated that the Cardinals have interest in Jake Peavy of the Red Sox, and Rosenthal reports that the two sides spoke a month ago, though not necessarily about Peavy. Boston has interest in the Cardinals’ young outfielders, and while St. Louis won’t deal Randal Grichuk or Stephen Piscotty for Peavy, the teams could expand the deal to include other players and make something work. Rosenthal floats the idea of a scenario in which Allen Craig heads to Boston, though that appears to be speculation.

Randal Grichuk scratched from #Cardinals AAA lineup. May be involved in #RedSox Peavy trade.
don't know how credible this is.
Hopefully this deal goes through, anything to turn this season around for the team.
With the deepest of regrets I am announcing that I will be leaving Pro Sports Daily. No reason in particular but wanted to thank everyone for a great 6 years here. Lots of great discussion and good poll series as well. Also fun re-drafts. Best of luck to you all in the future.
Turn the season around? The seasons over, impossible for them to make it, they would have to play like .700 ball.
I saw the original article, this is overblown. Just read it, whole thing is speculation. He just says the Cardinals make sense as a landing spot for Peavy, and that they talked a month ago and not necessarily about Peavy. The whole Craig thing is him just throwing **** against the wall for an interesting proposal that gets clicks.
It's a win for Red Sox management to simply find a team actually willing to take Peavy off our hands, never mind what we get in return.
It will probably be a PTBNL who ends up being a scrub reliever who inevitability gets released but atleast it opens up a spot for Rubby or whomever it may be from the farm to finish out the season.
Craig also not in the lineup. But that doesn't really mean anything necessarily.
Either way we should be happy peavys worth anything.
getting Craig back would be nice.
