Any dreams of the fan in me saying sweep are immediately dashed by Dice-K Matsuzaka .

He has a better ERA and WHIP than Minor.

    Dice-K as a starter: 33.2 IP, 4.81 ERA, 4.83 xFIP

He's garbage. If Minor controls the HR ball like he has done last year, he is a much better pitcher and it isn't close.

So he doesn't have a better ERA and WHIP?

Not as a starter. What he's done as a reliever isn't relevant here. WHIP and ERA on their own don't really tell the whole story either.

    Why isn't relevant?

He has a better ERA for the season, but you would rather take a small sample size to prove your point.

How does Dice-K's home split as a starter look?
"The 90 wins is about challenge. It's about changing the conversation. It's about framing questions for ourselves as to how we get there. So I stand by the notion that we need to get better, and in doing so we need to set concrete goals for ourselves so that we have sort of specific conversations among ourselves about how we're going to get there." -- Mr. Alderson

More soup: among rookies with 100 PAs+, Campbell ranks first in NL in avg and OPS, tied for 1st in OBP, 4th in WAR. Excellent. #mets

I would hope they find Campbell more ABs in LF when Duda is in against RHP.

Campell is rocking a .456 BABIP right now. He's going to come crashing down hard.
