    Cardinals (46-40) vs Marlins (41-44) July 4-6

Miami Marlins @ St. Louis Cardinals
Friday, July 4, 6:15 PM CDT , Busch Stadium

    Lynn (8-6) vs. Eovaldi (5-3)

Saturday, July 5, 1:15 PM CDT , Busch Stadium

    Andrew Heaney, LHP

This will be Heaney's fourth big league start, and he'll be seeking his first win. The lefty comes off a tough loss to the A's, in which he allowed four runs with two outs in the sixth inning. He hadn't given up a run in the first 5 2/3 innings.
    Shelby Miller, RHP

Miller had what manager Mike Matheny later described as his best curveball ever in his last start, but Miller lasted only five innings. He allowed six runs, including four in the fifth, but did get through the outing with no recurring back issues.
Sunday, July 6, 1:15 PM CDT , Busch Stadium
    Henderson Alvarez, RHP

In eight starts since May 22, Alvarez has given up six earned runs in 53 1/3 innings, a 1.01 ERA. He allowed two or fewer runs in those eight straight starts. The Marlins have won Alvarez's last nine outings.
    Marco Gonzales, LHP

Gonzales will be making his third big league start and will be trying to get past what has been a pesky fourth inning. Eight of the 10 runs he's allowed have come while going through the order a second time. His curveball remains a work in progress.

Tough break at the start of the game for Shelby could've ended up being worst than it actually was. Come on bats lets get it going guys.

Mike Matheny is a ****ing moron.

Allen Craig has been awful. Even vs left handers he's been about solid, not much more. Yet Matheny keeps putting him in prime places in the line up.

There's no excuse for Craig hitting 3rd today.

Our reward for Craig's inability to hit? 3 runners left on, 2 in scoring position.

I'm not one who buys big into certain players hit better with RISP, I want a guy up there who's hitting period. What the hell is Craig hitting 3rd but Molina who's hitting hot as hell right now and hitting .293 on the season hitting 5th?

Hell I would have taken Peralta, Molina or Jay in that at bat over Craig. Not that I want Jay batting 3rd but Craig should be below him in the line up. He's been awful

Yes! I love when Craig makes me look bad

I hate when it sounds like I'm down on the guy. I'm a huge fan but he's just the odd man right now. Hopefully that gets him going

Barring a blow up here, Miller was really good today.

Not walking batters and not much hard contact today

Highly doubt it with this non hitting boring offense and a rookie pitcher who has no business being up here.

I'm not watching, trying to listen to mike Shannon be incoherent on the radio.

But did Seth maness hit for himself, get a single, and then get pulled so nick greenwood could face a lefty crushing set lineup?

    What the **** Matheny?
