Matt Wieters to have Tommy John

Pretty rare for a position player to get it.

Expected back for ST next year.

I believe Sano got it this year too, didn't he?

Yeah Sano got it done too.

Didn't Pujols need it for like a half decade?

Still needs it, I figured he would get it done last year when he finally sat out with the Plantar.

Ozzie played his whole career needing it too, but I guess catchers need it worse when it comes up because of the increase number of throws, and I'm sure it's more severe in some players than in others.

That is the first time I have heard of a position player getting it, I hope he fully recovers.

Position players usually don't take anywhere near as long.

As mentioned above Miguel Sano had it done earlier this year.

It's much more rare for position players and usually the recovery time is a little less than that of a pitcher.

He should be ready to roll by spring training next year, same with Sano... while guys like Parker, Corbin, etc might take a little longer.

Wow, now position players are getting it. In any event good luck to Weiters.
    Favourite Teams:

Boston Red Sox: 49-62, games this week vs. Cardinals (3), Angels (3)
Indianapolis Colts: Good draft and off-season so far.
Looking for new NBA team to cheer for
Ottawa Senators: 37-31-14, season over, free agency begins this week.
