Reyes and Thole feel bad for Wright and Mets fans

    http://metsblog.com/metsblog/reyes-a...-and-mets-fans

Blue Jays SS Jose Reyes and C Josh Thole say they feel bad for David Wright, who continues to struggle through a rebuilding process in Queens, they told columnist Anthony Reiber this past weekend (Newsday, June 15).

“I was there from 2009 through 2012, and it was ‘wait till next year, wait till next year,’” said Thole. “The hardest thing in the baseball world, in my opinion, is to play in New York for the Mets. Everything is a story there.”

Reyes, Thole and the Blue Jays are 40-30 and in first place in the American League East.

“After a little while, you just want to win,” Reyes said. “It’s not about the money, because we are already set. We’ve got a contract and it’s now about winning. We’re not getting any younger, you know? What is he, 31? I’m 31. I want to win.”

Well then, is Thole even on the 40 man Roster for that team?

Does it matter? He's now part of a winning organization, instead of one whose major league franchise has been stuck in the mud for the past decade and shows no signs that they're getting out of it.

I know. But I was trying to be petty so I could ignore the sinking feeling of knowing that my team is going nowhere

Are you guys reading the comments under the actual article? They're Hilarious, this one is my favorite:

I'm with you, Jose. At this very moment, playing for the Mets is a hole you need to play your way out of. Play well enough that they'll need to pay you. Then just sit back while the team spins you for a 16-year old pitcher with "tremendous upside."

LOL. Can you even trade for a 16 year old?

The dream of all talented Mets players is to play well enough to be traded away to a contender.

In order to expedite this dream, publicly fight with your GM and Jay Horowitz via Twitter every few months - especially about where you get to do your rehab. That really gets under their skin.

Embarrassing team. Though I enjoy the (well deserved) negative press. I want as much pressure on ownership and the front office as possible.

Lets be honest, they are right, we have had one playoff season in the last decade and the rest has been a disappointment.

he's R A Dickey's personal catcher...and if you saw RA's results last year while Thole wasn't his personal catcher, you would understand why....

lost in last year's splits by catcher for Dickey, is how many passed balls and unearned runs allowed when JP or Blanco were catching...
