Will Fisher hiring possibly stop pairing of Carmelo & Lebron in New York in 2015?

Ok do not get pissed but it appears that Carmelo & Lebron want to play together per SAS. LA holding out on hiring a coach because they want to see if they can get the pair to come to LA (how with Kobe on their books). Melo pretty much endorsed the hiring of Mark Jackson with his statement he would love to play for Mark Jackson. Phil went with rookie coach Derek Fisher now scrambling to try to get Melo to stay. Should Phil have went with Mark as coach to keep Melo and possibly draw Lebron in light of Lebron and Melo wanting to play together or just roll the dice to try and get Melo to stay. If Melo walks and we get no compensation will Phil be able to recruit stars here for 2015? Or will his five years here be a rebuilding period with no expectation of winning a championship. Personally I would prefer a big two with Gasol and Melo with solid role players and bench than Melo and Lebron.

Imo not at all. Fisher is very well respected around the league. The word has always been that he would he a coach some day. I believe if anything he would attract F.A. If LeBron and Melo are going to play together it will be here. Imo it doesn't happen ever.

Bet you Mark could have talked Melo into staying.

SMH, I don't about Fisher, I hope he is as good as everybody hopes he will be.

I agree. Any Knicks fan who is still entertaining Lebron to NY is wasting whatever little brain power they have left.

I'm not saying Lebron is coming to New York, but if he does opt out of his deal with Miami, I can't see why New York won't be an option for him. He can easily form another Big 3 here with all the cap space we have.

I'm done trying to appease star players....

Let Phil build this how he wants to build it. If you want to stay and be a part of it? That's cool. If you don't, there's the door......

Phil is in the middle of a culture change at MSG. Appeasing Melo is taking 2 steps backwards...
