    Chiefs released CB Brandon Flowers

    Chiefs released CB Brandon Flowers.
Flowers' performance and usefulness in Kansas City slipped dramatically under new DC Bob Sutton last season, as a press-man scheme was installed in the secondary and Flowers failed to find a fit. He wound up mostly at slot corner, and was beaten relentlessly. The Chiefs were trying to trade Flowers, but found no takers for his contract. Flowers had some of the best years of his career under now-Texans DC Romeo Crennel, and cornerback depth is needed in Houston. We wouldn't be surprised to see them reunite. Flowers turned 28 in February.

i've always liked tis guy, but I can't help but to wonder if his game is slipping. I'd like to bring him in for a look.

Raiders have 10M in cap. Flowers was cut over 5.2M. Brown(30) and Rogers(33) are here on 1 year deals. Hayden and McGill have potential but are still unknowns at this point. Id pick up flowers. Flowers will work in the man and zone better then the bump and run he was playing in last season. Plus he played through an injury last season. Not that PFF is a end all be all but Flowers was ranked top 5 CB over the past 5 years even with a down season.

If Hayden is still limping around, bring in Flowers. All incentives on that contract.

I can see us giving him a look.

And you are what your record says you are.
Sure liked the two years before DA and RM 1 game away from playoffs.
And some say we are better off today.

This is a no brainer. Dude is a pro bowler last year too. When was the last time we had that? Plus we keep him in the division and let him play with a chip on his shoulder for being cut. I say get him before he ends up in Denver or NE

Bring him in for a one year deal. We got the money. Save the rest if a good MLB gets released in camp.

Flowers/Rogers/Hayden/brown is a much better cb core than we've had the past few years.

    absolutely bring him in...

    a position of need. check.
    a pro bowler available. check.
    cap room available. check.
stick it to the chiefs. check. check.

and it doesn't seem like an injury issue, it's more of him not wanting to be a chief anymore. Come on over to the dark side.

    Ignorant question : mostly rhetorical

If he struggled to play press man, and we use press man ... Particularly to blitz more...

    Is it a good fit

Does it matter ... Lol we have a need

He'll be highly sought after, imo. The team that gets him PAYS him, imo..

I'm just speculating, ---- I just don't think Reggie sees this team as desperate or needy, at any position, at his time. Hence, I don't see Reggie going after him.

I could be wrong, we'll see.

I'd err on the side of caution with this guy. I think he was released for more than contract reasons.
There's plenty of teams that need CB's. His price will be high because of that. Cant see RM going for him.

I actually don't have much interest. No point in overpaying him when he struggled in press man and we have a plethora of young corners.

Depends on the money. Our DC is creative enough to find a spot for him no doubt. However, if it takes anything more then a one year rental on the low side to be a role player, pass.
