    The Rays

What has happened to them? Preseason I saw a lot of people picking them to at least make the World Series.

At 'least" the World Series? Sounds reasonable.

    The Rays

At least the WS? Haha, no. Good team riddled with injuries. They've lost some good arms and don't have the offense to make up for it, simple as that. Not that I feel bad for them, hate that team.

They are constantly rebuilding and bringing in cost controlled players, so when their forecasts of their players are incorrect (they have injuries, under perform), they can be a pretty bad team, filled with good assets. They will trade Price and maybe a few veterans, then take a shot at being good again next year. They still have good pitching without Price, and Longo/Myers/Jennings/Zobrist, so ti is not like they are a lost cause.

Longo is finally showing his true colors. Overrated.

But 'at least make it to the ws'

    Wow. High expectations there.

They have limited offense, and have lost some of their pitching.

I also think they are better than they have played. They should be scoring better than this

Yeah only took him what 7 years in the league to prove what a bum he is? We should just hand wave away how awesome he was over those 7 years in favor of two months of baseball.

Can you provide evidence to back up your position? I've looked at his stats and can't come up with anything as to why he'd be "overrated". A down year, sure, but those happen to a lot of players. Eagerly awaiting your response.

Losing Cobb, Moore, and Myers really hurt the Rays but its more likely their under perfromance derives from the fact that they are 23rd in bullpen ERA, 20th in SP ERA, and 27th in runs scored.

All that adds up to a bad team.

One of their biggest problems has been their drafting and player development recently. After drafting Longoria and Price back to back years, they went on to select Tim Beckahm, LeVon Washington, Drew Vettleson, Josh Sale, Justin O'Conner. Who they got nothing from. In 2011 they held 10 of the first 60 picks, and other than Guerreiri none of them look great.

Me too, he's been so brilliant since his giants are the 3rd best team in the NL West post.

Yeah, they've had a bad season thus far, be interesting to see what happens with them the rest of the way.
With the deepest of regrets I am announcing that I will be leaving Pro Sports Daily. No reason in particular but wanted to thank everyone for a great 6 years here. Lots of great discussion and good poll series as well. Also fun re-drafts. Best of luck to you all in the future.
