St Louis is way too low, but I'm not high on them either.

Given that it's ESPN, I was expecting Pittsburgh to be lower.

that st. louis ranking is a travesty

put them in the NFC east last year and they win that division easily imho

Philly is too high, we havent proven **** yet, borderline top ten is arguable but unless Chip Kelly counts as part of the roster top 5 is a joke.... until after this season of course

Wow did Pittsburgh get **** on. I bet they win the SB now. Usually do when ESPN thinks that little of them.

Wow, I'd take St. Louis at least near 15.

Pitt at 27?! LOL that is something else. Why would ESPN talk trash about Pitt going 8-8 if they have the 27th ranked roster. Sounds like they're a bunch or overachievers

Philly and NO seem too high to me, but maybe I'm forgetting some quality accusations that either had.

As I understand it, these rankings are based solely on the ratings from PFF (stats mixed with subjective evaluation) for the starting players on each roster.

Of course there are going to be flaws with that methodology, mainly that how well a team plays together isn't factored in at all. Also, if a top player were to go down due to injury that alone would cause the team to fall a couple of ranks, which is accurate sometimes -- sometimes not.

I guess the Eagles are ranked so high, because several players had crazy stats last year, e.g. Foles, McCoy, Boykin, ...
