Cardinals (31-30) at Blue Jays (37-24) June 6-8

St. Louis Cardinals @ Toronto Blue Jays
Friday, June 6, 7:07 PM EDT , Rogers Centre
    Lance Lynn, RHP
    72.1 IP, 6-3, 3.48 ERA, 1.37 WHIP
After tossing the first shutout of his career May 27 against the Yankees, Lynn followed it up Sunday with his shortest start since Aug. 24, 2012. He lasted only 3 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs (four earned) on eight hits.
    Marcus Stroman, RHP
    12.1 IP, 2-0, 7.30 ERA, 1.54 WHIP
Stroman earned a win in his first Major League start on the same day he was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo. The 5-foot-9 right-hander pitched six innings and allowed one earned run on five hits with six strikeouts against the Royals last Saturday.
Saturday, June 7, 1:07 PM EDT , Rogers Centre

    Shelby Miller, RHP
    68.2 IP, 6-5, 4.06 ERA, 1.43 WHIP
Miller cruised through six scoreless innings Monday but hit trouble in the seventh. His ended up allowing four runs in seven innings. It was otherwise was a bounce-back outing from allowing seven runs against the Yankees.
    Mark Buehrle, LHP
    81.1 IP, 10-1, 2.10 ERA, 1.19 WHIP
Buehrle will have a chance to face his hometown team when the Cardinals visit Toronto. Buehrle is off to the best start of his career and has been one of the game's best pitchers. He has a quality start in all but two of his 12 outings.
Sunday, June 8, 1:07 PM EDT , Rogers Centre

    Jaime Garcia, LHP
    24.2 IP, 1-0, 5.47 ERA, 0.97 WHIP
Garcia moved quickly through the first four innings Tuesday, blanking the Royals. He ran into trouble in the fifth, however, allowing six runs before finally ending the frame on 38 pitches. He has allowed five homers in four starts.
    Drew Hutchison, RHP
    72.0 IP, 4-3, 3.50 ERA, 1.18 WHIP
Hutchison is coming off a gem of a performance against the Tigers, allowing three hits in seven scoreless innings while striking out seven. He earned a no-decision, but he hasn't lost a start since May 11.

And I missed it watching for my Sister and her family at the reds game

I was watching the game on my iPad, turned it off to piss and when I came back I didn't turn it back on right away. I then got a notification about it on my phone from MLB at bat

    I was very disappointed

    Shelby Miller was dominant today.

Great to see. I can only think of 3 balls that's were truly hit extremely hard all to the warning track

He was efficient, didn't walk a lot of batters, he was great today

Shelby had a big big game today. That inning when Melky and Jose broke up his nohitter, and found themselves in scoring position with Joey Bats at the plate. This looked like it could be his rough inning, which has haunted him in the past. Being up 1 run, this was a crucial situation in the game.

Shelby through two huge fastballs past Jose to get the strike out, 96 and 97 mph. He was fired up afterwards, and Tony was as well. Understandably so.

It was a huge inning, and like a turning point going forward. This was definitely something he can build on, and these are the types of scenarios that the best pitchers excel at. We see Wainwright do this all the time, and it is what makes him truly great. A lot of younger pitchers struggle in scenarios like this.

It also dispels that rumor that Shelby Miller was losing his arm strength.

His curveball also looked good today, and his changeup was serviceable.

Even with losing a game that's one of if not our best series of the year

We hit well. We pitched great. We fielded well.

Agreed Skippy.. It would be nice if we could string 5-7 of these types of series in a row...

Yeah, good series all around. Lynn pitched well, even though we lost. The bullpen was good. The offense looked familiar

    Yes it would.

It would be great to be 10 games or so over .500 at the all star break which is very doable.
