    Atlanta Braves (31-27) @ Arizona Diamondbacks (26-36) 6/6-6/8

    @

    Atlanta Braves @Arizona Diamondbacks

    Friday, 6/6 9:40 PM

    Julio Teheran, RHP (5-3, 1.83 ERA/3.67 FIP/3.85 xFIP) vs Brandon McCarthy, RHP (1-7, 5.20 ERA/3.87 FIP/2.86 xFIP)

Teheran recorded his Major-League leading 11th quality start when he limited the Marlins to only two runs in 7 1/3 innings last Friday. Miami's two-run first snapped Teheran's streak of 15 straight scoreless innings.

McCarthy's ERA jumped from a season-low of 4.67 on May 21 to 5.20 after his last two outings, in which he gave up a combined 10 runs and 18 hits while struggling to avoid big innings.
    Saturday, 6/7 10:10 PM

    Ervin Santana, RHP (5-2, 4.10 ERA/3.16 FIP/3.22 xFIP) vs Wade Miley, LHP (3-6, 4.85 ERA/4.56 FIP/3.54 xFIP)

Santana put a nightmarish stretch behind him in his most recent turn, recording his first quality start since May 10. Since compiling a 1.99 ERA in his first six starts, Santana is 1-2 with a 7.83 ERA in his last four outings.

Miley picked up the loss after giving up four home runs to the Reds in his last start, but he has also been mowing down batters. Despite a no-decision and a loss, the left-hander has struck out 20 hitters in 13 innings in his last two starts.

    Sunday, 6/8 4:10 PM

    Aaron Harang, RHP (4-4, 3.24 ERA/2.58 FIP/3.48 xFIP) vs Chase Anderson, RHP (4-0, 3.32 ERA/5.00 FIP/3.99 xFIP)

Harang has given up two runs or fewer in eight of 10 starts, a trend that falls in line with his 3.20 career ERA in 101 1/3 innings against Arizona. He walked four on Sunday after walking a combined seven in his previous seven starts.

Anderson has won all four of his big leagues starts this year. Last time out against the Rockies in Coors Field, he allowed just one run over six innings. He is not overpowering and his changeup is his best pitch.

Good hitting ball park so you would think that our offense would fair better....if only it was that easy. Hopefully, our pitching is stout in this road trip..going into hitting paradise for these two series.

How about some consistency. Lets get back to that early season form when we were winning series after series. Instead of getting swept, sweep, then get swept again.

Looking at the matchups though...we definitely could sweep.

Move La Stella to the 2nd spot. Dont replace him defensively (you didn't do that with Uggla). Let Gattis play the entire series.

I agree, but I won't mind having Laird on Sunday and we probably will be, he's hitting very well in his last 7 games.

You're right. Laird has been good of late. But I just like that HR threat everytime Gattis is up. Its gotta be mentally exhausting for pitchers in tight games.

Move LaStella to lead off drop Jason or Freeman to 5 th. Keeps your leftys separated and besides, we are finally getting something out of BJ! Why move him and become Uggla like again?

Damn it! Freeman is in some kind of slump, he can't hit anything.

I swear Heyward's rookie year was a 5.0 WAR on BR after it ended. It's now 6.3.

J-hey won that game for us. Beast-****in-ly. 3 hits (2 being opposite field with one being a homer) and a walk. That's how you know he's rolling when he's going the other way. Now, we wait to see when he goes back to one of his patent slumps..lol

Naturally though, when J-hey FINALLY gets going...Justin Upton and Freedie freeman forget how to hit. ****in typical..it always happens.

    Last 7 days. Freeman with a .190/.292/.238 .530 OPS. J-Up with a .167/.167/.167 .334 OPS. J-hey a .429/.500/.619 1.119 OPS.

All this talk about Freeman needing a break (which we already had 2 days off this week folks)..Justin has been twice as worse.

If some contender wanted to deal for McCarthy, they'd get a bargain. Traditional stats make him look bad (1-8 5+ ERA), but his FIP is good as well as his K/9 and BB/9. His HR rate is high, but I could see that regressing.
