Julio Teheran, RHP (5-3, 1.83 ERA/3.67 FIP/3.85 xFIP) vs Brandon McCarthy, RHP (1-7, 5.20 ERA/3.87 FIP/2.86 xFIP)
Teheran recorded his Major-League leading 11th quality start when he limited the Marlins to only two runs in 7 1/3 innings last Friday. Miami's two-run first snapped Teheran's streak of 15 straight scoreless innings.
Saturday, 6/7 10:10 PMMcCarthy's ERA jumped from a season-low of 4.67 on May 21 to 5.20 after his last two outings, in which he gave up a combined 10 runs and 18 hits while struggling to avoid big innings.
Ervin Santana, RHP (5-2, 4.10 ERA/3.16 FIP/3.22 xFIP) vs Wade Miley, LHP (3-6, 4.85 ERA/4.56 FIP/3.54 xFIP)
Santana put a nightmarish stretch behind him in his most recent turn, recording his first quality start since May 10. Since compiling a 1.99 ERA in his first six starts, Santana is 1-2 with a 7.83 ERA in his last four outings.
Miley picked up the loss after giving up four home runs to the Reds in his last start, but he has also been mowing down batters. Despite a no-decision and a loss, the left-hander has struck out 20 hitters in 13 innings in his last two starts.
Sunday, 6/8 4:10 PM
Aaron Harang, RHP (4-4, 3.24 ERA/2.58 FIP/3.48 xFIP) vs Chase Anderson, RHP (4-0, 3.32 ERA/5.00 FIP/3.99 xFIP)
Harang has given up two runs or fewer in eight of 10 starts, a trend that falls in line with his 3.20 career ERA in 101 1/3 innings against Arizona. He walked four on Sunday after walking a combined seven in his previous seven starts.
Anderson has won all four of his big leagues starts this year. Last time out against the Rockies in Coors Field, he allowed just one run over six innings. He is not overpowering and his changeup is his best pitch.
