About time hopefully he is the spark we need to start performing better

Yep, that is the roster move. Adams to the DL, Taveras to the show.

He has 15 days to show he belongs here

It will be entirely dependent on how he does while Adams is sidelined.

If he hits well he will stay. If not he will go back down

Over the next 2 weeks there will be plenty of time for Grichuk and Taveras to show if they belong

Cardinals to call up Oscar Taveras

Do you think Oscar will be sent down since he is hitting 192 and has been up for about 2 weeks now?

    Adams isn't back yet

And his results aren't as important as looking at how he's doing

He's taking very good at bats, he's not intimidated and he's hitting the ball hard in most at bats. He's not being over powered with MLB pitching, he's in adjustment period but he's adjusting well

I don't think he neccessarily gets down but it doesn't mean they see it the same. I would send Grichuk down before Taveras but one likely goes unless Jay or Bourjos is traded which isn't likely right this moment but come mid July it could be possible

He doesn't look bad, he just isn't getting hits.

I could see him being sent down, coming back a month or so later and raking. He has a good stroke, and looks confident and capable.

He doesn't looked overmatched at all. He's hit the ball hard, just right at the guy. He's only struck out (swinging) 3 times in 40 plate appearances. I think he's just in the adjustment process and he'll be the great hitter that every single scout and those who know their baseball said he will be. People also have to remember that it's just been 10 games. To me the guy everyone should be questioning is Craig. A guy batting .248 as your cleanup hitter? I get it, he's been pretty darn good the last few years, but it's hurting the team right

Here's a read good article breaking down Oscar's first 9 games:

Craig has even extremely up and down.

He had a horrible first 3 weeks. And he's had a bad like 11 games. But May was very good. His overall numbers are heavily dragged down from a bad start which I don't hold against players numbers or credit them when they start the first 3 weeks hitting .500 and then after a slump still hit .300 because of the great first 3 weeks. I only don't look at this as important because it's so common either way to start red hot or ice cold

The best way to handle it IMO is keep Taveras up and start him in:

LF 1 time every 10 games
RF 4 times every 10 games
CF 2 times every 10 games

This gets him starts in 7 of 10 games, he comes off the bench in 3 games as a late game Substitution or pinch hitter

But it also only takes minimal time away from Holliday-Craig-Adams

Adams loses 2 games. Craig loses 2 games and Holliday 1.

Days he is in CF late in the game we can move him to RF/LF and put Bourjos in CF and improve dramatically defensively

Not overly surprising. Adams up Oscar down.
