Exclamation Giants are the best team in baseball

    35 wins 19 losses
    W% .648
    first in the division
    rosW% .514
    POFF 88.7%
    NLDS 34.2%
    Projected Full Season: W91 L71 W% .559 (FanGraphs)
    Actual Win Pct .642 ~ 3rd Order Win Pct .553 / D3 4.2 Hit List Factor .560 (Baseball Prospectus)
    RPI .538 (ESPN)

It's still really early, but not ridiculously early like the second week of the season, so I think it's fair to start to get excited even though anything can happen with so many games left, O's fans and Pirates fans were popping up hype threads earlier than this a few seasons ago, so I don't think it's out of line. Does anyone disagree that the Giants are the best team in baseball right now? What are your predictions for the rest of the season/postseason? With Cain coming back, and a formidable offense that supports a deep, dangerous pitching staff, I feel they are built, and primed for a deep postseason run.

    What say you?

Barry Lamar Bonds. .393/.967/1.054....on 3-0 counts.

You can tell Fangraphs disagrees with you if they think the Giants will go 56-52 the rest of the year. But that's the great thing about starting the year off so well. Even if they go .500 the rest of the way, they will end up with 89 wins which should be good enough for at least a wild card.

But best record ≠ best team. I think the A's are the best.

Giants are a hot team right now but not necessarily the best. Toronto and Milwaukee are close record wise as well but I can say neither are a top team in my opinion. Giants are right in that category. Oakland is the most solid team with more than 30 wins.

Honestly none of the teams this year really stick out above and beyond anyone. Houston, Philly, Mets and the Cubs are the only teams I'd put money on a guarantee they don't see the playoffs. It is a very balanced season.

I like seeing the two top teams being both teams from the bay area. Let's hope for another bay area world series

lol, please, so being projected to go 56-52 labels a team the best in baseball.

I honestly don't even think we're clicking yet. Posey has been pretty awful and so has pablo with exception to his 2 weeks of being on fire.

Pagan and Morse have really been the only consistent offensive contributors I'd say.

I say crowning yourself the best team early in the season means absolutely nothing.

I can't remember a time in my life when the Giants were the best team. Definitely not right now.

You can say that about a lot of teams, and the giants still need 4 more months of no injuries to go to the playoffs, this team has zero depth at basically all positions, if Posey has to go on the DL this team might not be winning the close one's like it has up to this point.

I still prefer the A's run differential

But the Giants have been very good

Seems like they are great every other year.

Why is it that every thread about the Giants in this forum makes me cringe?
