I hope we trade out to pick up a bunch of picks later on... No one really stands out as a person of need at 29 unless one of the ND guys or Amaro is still there

I'm on the Easley bandwagon. He's the perfect DT to take the snaps that Chandler Jones was getting inside last year which will allow him to stay outside at DE more. We could reduce Jones' total snaps but still get more time at DE out of him than we did last year. Easley would be better at DT than Jones was IMO and Jones will be better DE than anyone we had last year so he improves us at 2 spots. I don't want to move back and risk not getting him. He's a stud IMO.

*this is all assuming that his medical records check out ok

If we don't pick up a TE, I'm expecting for us to sign Keller at some point in the near future. Even if we do draft one, I'd still like to sign him.

From Ken Rosenthal's "NFL draft trades we'd love to see":
    3. New England acquires Mike Glennon from Tampa Bay: Greg Schiano, who spent the entire NFL Scouting Combine by Bill Belichick's side, said on NFL Network on Tuesday that he sees Glennon as a future star. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that the Buccaneers would be willing to trade Glennon for a second-round pick if they draft a quarterback early.
Translation: The Buccaneers will take a quarterback early and they will probably trade Glennon. The Patriots could get a long-term backup to groom for a low price, like perhaps a 2015 third-round pick
I hadn't thought of this, but it doesn't seem that far-fetched given Bill's relationship with Schiano. Still, doubt it happens unless we get an abundance of picks by trading out of the first round or if we get a third or fourth rounder for Mallett (which doesn't seem likely).

I'm going to guess that if we take a C, it'll be Swanson. He may not be athletic, but he has the size Wendell lacked and could be had in the 4th round. Best case scenario would involve us drafting a C who beats out Wendell for the starting job, Wendell can't find work elsewhere and if our C gets injured at some point this year we have the flexibility to bring back Wendell.

I'm not a fan of amaro. He has a lot of work to do.

    I want Shazier or Tuitt...

Hopefully we can trade back ~8-10 spots and pick up extra picks

I wouldn't mind if we somehow traded down to around 50. I think theres a decent drop off past about 20 in this draft and above average value for the 50-75 region Especially considering 5-7 QBS could be taken from the top 75 or so.

A quick summary: There have supposedly been talks about sending Mallett to the Texans.

Very interesting! If we got their second rd pick, it would be huge

As much as i would love their second round pick. I doubt its even the third round pick. Probably 4th, unless Bill Obrien really feels he knows what he has with Mallett. But the first pick of the second round just sounds like too much. I would love to be completely wrong though.

I doubt Belichick would trade Mallett for anything less than a 3rd round pick given that they used a 3rd round pick on him 3 years ago and he hasn't gone up or down since.

This right here thinks its a 3rd while someone else refutes the rumor.
