Trade Heavy Draft, or Stand still Draft.

    Simple Thread

Do you guys for see a lot of movement in the draft, or, will it be a very stagnant draft.

I thought last year was going to have a lot of movement on day 1, and really there wasn't.

With so many underclassmen I'm guessing we'll see about as much as we ever have. More talent will equal more want, I think. And more people willing to go up for who they want with content sellers thinking one they still like will fall.

    Total guess work though.

All in all, if the Panthers are going to select a QB, Gabbert has to be the pick.

I'm gonna say you see a large amount of trades. There have been like quite a few general managers come out and say straight up that they are up for trading back in the 1st round.

I'm anticipating a lot of trades due to how equally the QBs all suck. It's just like 2011's draft, everyone is going to fight tooth and nail and overdraft mediocre QBs like what happened with Ponder/Gabbert/Locker. Nobody in the top 10 will want to spend their pick on a QB, but they'll have to trade back into the late 1st round to get one. I could also see someone trading up for an OT (three damn good prospects in Matthews/Robinson/Lewan, with Martin and Moses possibly being in high demand in the mid-to-late first). Someone might even trade up for Ebron/Evans/OBJ. I could be wrong, but this draft to me is looking like it will be great for teams that need defensive help because I see overrated QBs, a deep WR/TE class, and a deep OT class dominating the 1st round. A guy CB Dennard could end up sliding to the 20s, whereas he might've been a top 10 pick in another draft.

I'm right there with everyone else. I see as many as 4-5 in the first round alone. I see players for picks (ie. Cousins to the browns for a second) and people trading up and down in the mid rounds with so much value available this year.

    My Mock v 1.1
    51st (Second Round) - Amerson CB/FS
85th (third round) - Bacarri Rambo FS
    119th (fourth) - David Quessenberry, OT/OG
    154th (fifth) - Cornelius Washington, DE/ OLB
162nd (fifth) - Ray Ray Armstrong, SS
191st (sixth) - Nick Kasa, TE
228th (seventh) - Rodney Smith, WR

I have no idea. The depth of this draft makes me want to think that teams won't trade up. They will want to either keep their picks or move down and get more picks. However, I also see 5-6 elite players that I could easily see teams wanting to trade up for. I think it will come down to how much each of the top teams will value that pick. I also think the mid (14-18) and the late (26-32) will see interest in trades. Players like Cooks and Odell Beckham will be valued highly in the middle of the first and some other WR and OT could be valued highly at the end of the draft. I've been hearing a ton of teams are wanting OTs that there could be a rush for them.

This offseason has been crazy with all of the releases and players changing teams. I really wouldn't be surprised if it continues to happen and QBs get traded during the draft.

I think there will be 3-4 trades in the first round, but I think there will be a lot of trades throughout the rest of the draft.

There will EASILY be 6. When was the last time there was less than 6?

Seems like there's always more somehow

If the first is Traded and Clowney isn't the pick and Robinson is then Rams might trade 2 if they don't get third in a Bradford Trade. If the QB's fall or some Veteran ones get Traded could see lots of Trades between 10 and last pick of day one. Also if Flowers or some one send all their picks to Detroit for Suh then you could see Defensemen fall in the Draft.
