Good point LionsFan, I was interested in our K's so i looked at how many times we've K'd this year and we are dead last in total K's. That's a bit misleading because we have also played the fewest number of games in MLB this year.
So, I figured out K's/game for every team we are in second place with 6.333 K's/Game. Only Kansas City is better with 5.74 K's/Game.
Here's what makes this stat so amazing. Guess who leads our team in total K's? It's pretty easy...It's Alex Avila...he's struck out 26 times in 59 at bats. In comparison, second on our team is Miguel Cabrera who has struck out 22 times...but he's had 111 At bats.
Here's another funny stat that doesn't matter. Justin Verlander is leading our team with a .667 BA :
EDIT: I kept looking at stats because I don't feel like working and the Tigers are in the top 5/6 in every offensive stat I can think of. We are even top 7 in Runs per game with 4.9 Runs/Game.
Really the only thing we struggle with is power...but who needs power if you can still score?
