    Cardinals (16-16) at Braves 17-13) May 5-7

St. Louis Cardinals at Atlanta Braves

Monday, May 5, 7:10 PM EDT , Turner Field
    Shelby Miller, RHP
    34.1 IP, 3-2, 3.15 ERA, 1.46 WHIP
Miller won half of his April starts despite struggling to maintain consistent command of his pitches all month. Homers (seven) and walks (21) have hurt him, though Miller has found a way to still keep his club in games.

    Aaron Harang, RHP
    36.1 IP, 3-2, 2.97 ERA, 1.07 WHIP
Harang hopes to rebound from a rough end to an otherwise stellar April. His 0.85 ERA climbed more than two runs as he surrendered nine earned runs on 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings against the Marlins.

Tuesday, May 6, 7:10 PM EDT , Turner Field
    Tyler Lyons, LHP
    15.0 IP, 0-2, 4.20 ERA, 1.13 WHIP
Lyons is making his third start of the season after a brief stint in the bullpen. He's allowed six earned runs in 12 innings as a starter, compared to one in three innings as a reliever.

    Gavin Floyd, RHP
Pitching in place of Ervin Santana, who needs a few extra days to rest a bruised thumb, Floyd will be making his first start since undergoing Tommy John surgery last year. He'll get similar spot starts until a rotation spot opens.

Wednesday, May 7, 7:10 PM EDT , Turner Field
    Adam Wainwright, RHP
    50.0 IP, 5-2, 2.16 ERA, 0.94 WHIP
Wainwright was roughed up for the first time this season in his last start Friday against the Cubs, who snapped his 25-inning scoreless streak with a six-run outburst. He allowed more hits (10) than in his previous three starts combined (9).

    Mike Minor, LHP
    6.0 IP, 0-1, 3.00 ERA, 1.17 WHIP
Minor gave up two solo home runs and not much else in his season debut on May 2. He hopes to improve his command of his offspeed pitches, which he left out over the middle of the plate in the loss.

A win is a win is a win. Good to see Bourjos get into it today, even if they werent hard hits.

The first one was just luck but sometimes that's all it takes to relax. The 2nd one was a nice hit through the hole at 2B

He needs to play this series a lot though. Need his range in the big outfield gaps of Turner field

What does Bourjos have to do to get consistent starts?

Lyons was stellar, I was opening psd to comment on his assortment of quality pitches, and then Upton hit a bomb off of him. So I figured that was an omen and closed psd.

The braves broadcasters mentioned that the braves strikeout the most of any team per 9 innings, and the cards are the 4th best in that stat.
