    St.Louis Cardinals (16-16) @ Atlanta Braves (17-13) 5/5-5/7

    @

    St.Louis Cardinals @ Atlanta Braves

    Monday, 5/5 7:00 PM

    Shelby Miller, RHP (3-2, 3.15 ERA/6.20 FIP/4.91 xFIP)vs Aaron Harang, RHP (3-2, 2.97 ERA/2.98 FIP/3.87 xFIP)

Miller won half of his April starts despite struggling to maintain consistent command of his pitches all month. Homers (seven) and walks (21) have hurt him, though Miller has found a way to still keep his club in games.

Harang hopes to rebound from a rough end to an otherwise stellar April. His 0.85 ERA climbed more than two runs as he surrendered nine earned runs on 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings against the Marlins.

    Tuesday, 5/6 7:10 PM

    Tyler Lyons, LHP (0-2, 4.50 ERA/2.81 FIP/4.00 xFIP)vs Gavin Floyd, RHP (0-0, 0.00 ERA/0.00 FIP/0.00 xFIP)

Lyons is making his third start of the season after a brief stint in the bullpen. He's allowed six earned runs in 12 innings as a starter, compared to one in three innings as a reliever.

Pitching in place of Ervin Santana, who needs a few extra days to rest a bruised thumb, Floyd will be making his first start since undergoing Tommy John surgery last year. He'll get similar spot starts until a rotation spot opens.

    Wednesday, 5/7 7:10 PM

    Adam Wainwright, RHP (5-2, 2.16 ERA/2.66 FIP/3.26 xFIP)vs Mike Minor, LHP (0-1, 3.00 ERA/6.14 FIP/2.89 xFIP)

Wainwright was roughed up for the first time this season in his last start Friday against the Cubs, who snapped his 25-inning scoreless streak with a six-run outburst. He allowed more hits (10) than in his previous three starts combined (9).

Minor gave up two solo home runs and not much else in his season debut on May 2. He hopes to improve his command of his offspeed pitches, which he left out over the middle of the plate in the loss.

So far so good in proving that we can hit off quality pitching . And now we get the class of the NL (don't be fooled by that record) coming in. Superior lineup, superior starters, and a damn good pen. If anyone thought the Marlins/Giants were tough...this team is on another level...at least talent wise.

This could be a massacre in all 3 games.

But ****, that's why they play the games eh...lets see if they don't get embarrassed.

Braves Fredi G said lineup changes likely Monday, but stressed it wouldn't be dramatic, noted it's basically same crew that won 96 in '13

Well, looks like we are actually going back to what worked last year..a.k.a J-up in the 2 hole.. (just saw this right after I made a post about it in the Giants GT, lol)

    That works for me.

    Yes it has.

@mlbbowman: Fredi said he might make a slight tweak to the lineup tomorrow. Uggla seems the most likely to be affected.
We need to try LaStella it just make too much sense.

I really wish Rev would get more of a chance. At least start giving him more pinch hit at bats (over Doumit).

    #Braves lineup: 1. Heyward RF 2. JUpton LF 3. Freeman 1B 4. Gattis C 5. BUpton CF 6.Johnson 3B 7. Simmons SS 8. Harang P 9. Pena 2B

Interesting move with Harang in 8 spot. I actually like this a lot though. B.J has been getting on base and putting the ball in play a lot more and unlike a ton of others on this roster he can BUNT if needed.

You don't give bench players a week or 2 of starts unless it's injury driven or you plan on giving them the starting spot. If Uggs sits for 1/2 weeks..just get rid of the guy...there is no point in keeping him at that point. Baseball is the ultimate habit sport..guys have to be out there all the time to perform well (not like Uggs has been performing well in these times).

so much for not making any "dramatic" changes Fredi...you don't think hitting Harang in the 8th spot, moving B.J to the 5th spot, EOB back to cleanup, moving J-up back to #2, and starting Pena is "dramatic?" Those are pretty significant changes..

Not complaining though...at least gives us hope. Chris needs to get his BABIP dominance back..he'll accomplish that in the lower of the order.

Chris just seems to be a tick late lately. If he can get his timing right, I think he'll mash again.
