    New CBA Working?

We haven't seen a first round this tight in years
    5 games 7's and only 1 sweep
could it potentially be due to the new cba coming into form creating less disparity between teams? will the nba start to become more competitive top to bottom over the next couple of years?

Another factor could be how the west coast for the past decade has been having a battle for playoff seeds where 9th, 10th, 11th place could easily make the playoffs if they were in the eastern conference.

Keeping that in mind now you have teams with .500 records or better getting mid-high first round draft picks for the better of a decade now keeping all western teams relevant/same level meanwhile the eastern conference ends up mediocre again with teams like the bobcats and hawks making the playoffs that obviously need more help than this years phoenix suns as an example

I think it definitely plays a role. The gap in talent level between teams isn't as big as it once was.
Friend: I think the NBA paid off the Heat in the first yr because of the politics. They threw game four and they paid Lebron because they were angry with what he did. So he had pay one way or another.

F: Vogel doesn't run that team. Shaw does. If he leaves they are going to suck and Vogel will get fired.
