    Cardinals (12-11) vs Pirates (9-14) April 25-27

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Friday, April 25, 7:15 PM CDT , Busch Stadium

    Gerrit Cole, RHP
    2-1, 27.0 IP, 3.67 ERA, 1.26 WHIP
Cole allowed one run over eight strong innings, but he settled for a no-decision against the Brewers on Sunday. Cole gave up six hits and a walk, while striking out six in the game.
    Shelby Miller, RHP
    1-2, 22.2 IP, 3.57 ERA, 1.50 WHIP
Miller's been hurt by home runs (five) and walks (14) this season, the latter in part due to his tendency to fall too far off to the side as he finishes his delivery. Miller is seeking his first win over the Pirates in five career starts.
Saturday, April 26, 3:05 PM CDT , Busch Stadium

    Francisco Liriano, LHP
    0-3, 32.0 IP, 4.22 ERA, 1.25 WHIP
Liriano allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits and two walks in seven-plus innings Monday in a no-decision against the Reds. He faced the Cardinals at PNC Park on April 5, allowing four runs and seven hits in six innings.
    Tyler Lyons, LHP
    0-1, 6.0 IP, 3.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP
Lyons allowed two earned runs in six innings Monday night in New York, in his first Major League start of the season. He's filling the spot of Joe Kelly, on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring.
Sunday, April 27, 1:15 PM CDT , Busch Stadium

    Edinson Volquez, RHP
    1-1, 28.0 IP, 1.93 ERA, 0.93 WHIP
The Pirates most consistent starter takes another shot at his first road win since last July 25. He won his only Busch Stadium start last season and is 3-5 lifetime against the Cardinals.
    Adam Wainwright, RHP
    4-1, 37.0 IP, 1.46 ERA, 0.81 WHIP
After departing his last start in New York with a right knee tweak diagnosed as hyperextension, Wainwright passed a side session and got the thumbs up to take his regular turn in the series finale.

    Rosenthall looks back

Miller got lucky all night....whatever, I'll take it

Love that a Carpenter bunt hit made the only run.

We are 10-0 when we score 4 runs this year

We are only 9-6 now when we allow 3 runs or less

That's putrid for 3 runs or less.

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good lol

Miller looks off but he looked somewhat better tonight in flashes.

Their both kind of similar. You watch & watch some more expecting something to happen yet nothing does.

I'm not too worried about it. Looks like small sample sizes are the issue here. Last year from June 2nd until July 4th, they were 13-16. Good teams can have cold stretches.

I was at that game yesterday. We got free Molina jerseys, but the game wasn't good.

Pretty much my feelings as well

When Holliday, Craig, Peralta, 2nd base and until recently Carpenter aren't hitting well the team isn't going to do well. They're all veterans, they'll be hitting fine soon

The bench is the bigger concern IMO. We need something much better than Shane Robinson off the bench.

Shane Robinson is a quality back up defender but not much else. But considering we now have Jay and Bourjos who can play CF Robinson isn't a necessary part anymore. Doesn't offer any power. He won't go in as a late sub over Bourjos in center and we can always move out Holliday/Craig/Adams and put Jay in RF or LF to improve defense in late games. Shane Robinson really offers nothing here at the moment. He's a wasted roster spot

    Cardinals (12-11) vs Pirates (9-14) April 25-27

Haha Johnny is struggling to get hits but when he does it's almost 1/4 chance it's going over the fence lol
