Colorado Rockies (12-11) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (13-10)

    .............................

Colorado Rockies (12-11) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (13-10)

    Dodger Stadium

Game 1. Friday, 7:10PM. SportsNet LA

    Josh Beckett

He hasn't gone past five innings in any of his three starts, but a 2.57 ERA shows Beckett is healthy and effective enough for a fourth or fifth starter. An inning or two deeper would help the bullpen, though.
    vs.

    Jordan Lyles

Lyles' sinker was as good as it's been all year, inducing 14 groundball outs against five fly-ball outs. He pitched seven without allowing an earned run or extra-base hit, and became the first Rockies starter in '14 to pitch into the eighth inning.
Game 2. Saturday, 7:10PM. SportsNet LA

    Paul Maholm

There are teams Maholm matches up well against, but the Rockies aren't one of them. He's 1-8 lifetime against Colorado and, following Beckett, the Dodgers need him to at least eat some innings.

Nicasio didn't have his best stuff Sunday, but left with a lead in a game the Rockies lost by one. He allowed five runs (four earned), including three by homers, yielding seven hits and a walk while striking out five.
Game 3. Sunday, 1:10PM. SportsNet LA

    Hyun-Jin Ryu

Ryu bent but didn't break against the Phillies, pitching out of repeated jams and finishing with a quality start of six innings and two runs allowed. He hasn't served up a home run yet this season.

After a rough beginning, signs are pointing to stabilization. He pitched well for six innings in a hard-luck loss at San Diego on April 16. In his last start, he needed 102 pitches for five innings but earned his first win, over the Giants at home.

How do we stack in the league with RISP? I would assume we are at the Top 5 worst. Give or take Top 3 for contenders I assume. No one cares about bottom feeders obviously.

    Errors this season, worse.

    Pen so far, worse.

Improvements from last season - NONE. (other than healthy players).

And I was led to believe that "Don with spring training would do wonders for the team and chemistry"....am I rite?

Needless to say this was a fallacy. But I knew that...
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway hope for some wins in this series. Rockies coming hot!

Pretty good lineup but I think I would flip Uribe and Crawford and trade for a catcher that can hit

    1. Gordon, 2B

    2. Puig, RF

    3. Ramirez, SS

    4. Gonzalez, 1B

    5. Kemp, CF

    6. Crawford, LF

    7. Uribe, 3B

    8. Federowicz, C

    9. Beckett, P

Can't say that I woulda stuck with Beckett in the 8th. Especially not to face Blackmon with a runner at 2nd.

    Great outing.

Can't complain about Beckett tonight, the offense on the other hand, is disappointing.
