Johnson played on bum knee after week 3, had surgery on torn meniscus

Johnson's health is a question. He underwent surgery in late January to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee and resumed running only about a month ago. He said after the season that he first hurt his knee in Week 3. He didn't miss any games and became the fifth player in league history with 1,000 rushing yards in each of his first six seasons. Obviously, the Jets feel confident he will regain his explosiveness.

no way we didnt do physical before signing so I am fine. Remember he is complimenting Ivory, not replacing him

he did a physical last week and the Jets made him do a physical two days ago. They did their due diligence.

It's a 4-6 week recovery period and he had the surgery in January. I doubt it affects him during OTA's and training camp.

This is good news. This explains his drop in production last year and that he's one tough SOB!

I had the exact same reaction. Never thought an injury would make me so happy.

A torn meniscus is not a serious injury. It has a short recovery time, and it has no impact on speed, explosiveness, or lateral movement.

This is actually good news. It explains why he didn't have any breakaways last year.

He won't have the ability to make the first defender miss (sarcastic tone)
