    Washington Nationals (7-2) @ Atlanta Braves (5-4) 4/11-4/13

    @

    Washington Nationals @ Atlanta Braves

    Friday, 4/11 7:35 PM

    Tanner Roark, RHP (1-0, 3.00 ERA/3.08 FIP/5.50 xFIP)vs Julio Teheran, RHP (1-1, 2.77 ERA/4.40 FIP/4.92 xFIP)

Roark stepped in for a sick Jordan Zimmermann, pitching six innings and allowing two runs on six hits and striking out five in a season-debut win over the Mets.

Despite not having a good feel for his slider, Teheran allowed just two runs and three hits over seven innings against the Nationals on Saturday. He has a 2.32 ERA in his past five starts against Washington.

    Saturday, 4/12 7:10 PM

    Taylor Jordan, RHP (0-0, 1.42 ERA/3.24 FIP/4.91 xFIP)vs Alex Wood, LHP (1-1, 1.93 ERA/4.46 FIP/3.64 xFIP)

In his last outing, Jordan recorded a no-decision, pitching 6 1/3 innings and allowing one run on six hits in Sunday's 2-1 victory against the Braves. Jordan will face Atlanta for the second time in less than a week.

Wood takes the hill hoping for more run support in his second start against the Nationals. He took a tough loss against Washington on Sunday despite giving up only two runs in seven innings.

    Sunday, 4/13 1:35 PM

    Gio Gonzalez, LHP (2-0, 0.75 ERA/2.16 FIP/3.59 xFIP)vs Aaron Harang, RHP (1-1, 0.71 ERA/2.53 FIP/4.20 xFIP)

In his last start, Gonzalez pitched six shutout innings as he helped the Nationals blank the Marlins, 5-0. Gonzalez threw a lot of pitches early, but he settled down and retired the final 10 hitters before leaving the game.

Harang has given up just one run in his first two starts, totaling 12 1/3 innings. He faced the Nationals as a member of the Mets on Sept. 12, 2013, and struck out 10 batters in six innings.

We don't face these guys again till late june. Got to make this count...dropping the series puts us at 3 games back from them..that's a pretty decent cushion. It's early, yes, but these are big games...particularly when we avoid facing their multiple aces.

Roark/Jordan..these are guys that we should be hitting off. Wake up offense. We need you.

Last night I saw some pretty terrible baseball late in the game from these Braves (especially their at-bats in the ninth inning). Let's hope tonight is a little different.

This offense needs to step up big time. Hopefully Justin found his April/2013 stroke and Heyward is able to put a good steak together. I know its early but Chris Johnson is defeating the purpose of having him hit 4th.

I also hate the idea of EOB not playing everyday like a regular catcher. How is he suppose to learn to lay off those off-speed pitches.

Need to trade for a reliever. The current ones aren't performing well at all.
