You'd think the NHL would learn to check the rafters for snipers by now.

He literally does this like twice a game. Face of the NHL gets so much protection its silly...Only thing that surprises me here is that the Lineman didn't put himself in the penalty box for touching sid.

Gotta wonder what's going on in his head after he realizes he acted so foolishly in front of a ref.

That reaction is hilarious. You know you're a diver, when you premeditate that kind of reaction to any kind of hit to the face.

The lineman is getting called in to the Wheel of Justice with Shannahan.

Does this surprise you? The face of the NBA does this a lot too.

This is true. That doesn't mean we should celebrate it. Rather, quite the opposite.

No but to act like Sid is the only one and/or worst is ridiculous. I'm not even a Crosby fan.

Certainly no one's arguing he's the only one.

Worst consistent offender of the superstars though? I'd have no problem buying that argument.

But his get pointed out more than anyone else and for many reasons.

    1. He's disliked by more than other superstars
    2. He's been a superstar the longest

That's pretty safe to say. He's getting better, but he's def still a diver. I just don't think you can go at him big time for this stuff when you hav certain players on your own team. I notice several B's posters, and I'm pretty damn sure Brad Marchand has a big reputation for this as well.

Actually I don't think the linesman got anything but cheek.

If he did hit him in the nose though I can see his head jerking back like that, the head jerk seemed pretty reactionary.. I mean that gif is in slow motion and it was pretty instant. Definite embellishment going down to the ice though.

Yes, he is. Now consider for a moment exactly why that is. Did the majority of people feel this way about Gretzky during his era? How about Lemieux? There's a reason Crosby commands the critiques he does. They're not unwarranted nor are they undeserved. When you're the best player in the world and you insist on treating the game the way he does (this refers to much more than just continued diving) these are the repercussions you deal with. Gifs on the internet don't seem to faze Crosby. To a further extent, his general reputation league-wide doesn't seem to bother him much, if at all - so I fail to see why anyone feels the need to jump to his defense since he doesn't do so himself. He's comfortable with the player he is.
