Chicago Blackhawks (42-16-5) at Boston Bruins (49-17-6)
The Boston Bruins saw their 12-game winning streak snapped Monday, however, they were able to extend their point streak to 13-games as they lost in a shootout. The Bruins will be looking to extend that streak to 14-games tonight as they host the Chicago Blackhawks in the second and final regular season meeting between these two clubs. The Blackhawks won the only other matchup, 3-2, in a shootout.
As the Bruins host the Blackhawks this evening having already secured a playoff spot, the Boston Bruins can achieve the next step and clinch the Atlantic Division Title and at least the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. This can occur in two days;
1) The Boston Bruins gain at least one point tonight coupled with a regulation loss by the Tampa Bay Lightning
2) The Boston Bruins win and the Tampa Bay Lightning lose, regulation or overtime.
This should be a fantastic game tonight and despite the Bruins loss on Monday, they continue to be playing great hockey. It's possible these two teams could meet again and this will be a good test for the Bruins.
