    RIP Ralph Wilson

    http://www.wxyz.com/sports/buffalo-b...-jr-dead-at-95

The league would not be what it is without him....just passed at the age of 95.

I sure hope this doesn't result in in-family fighting and even more so questions about the team's future in Buffalo.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft remembered Ralph Wilson always visited his suite during games and brought gifts. His late wife Myra loved that

Kraft remembered how Ralph Wilson reached out to him when he first bought the #Patriots: "He was a real gentleman, a classy guy."
Kind of sad he never got his SB

Founded the Bills in the upstart AFL in 1959 and helped build the league towards its merger with the NFL...the only owner the Bills have ever had....he actually, originally, wanted to start his team in Miami but was turned down (interesting that comedian Danny Thomas was part of the original ownership when the Dolphins were formed in Miami in 1966)

Fun fact he once owned a share in the Lions organization before the WCF took over and now sadly both are gone. It is too bad the Bills never did get him one SB ring during his tenure there. As a consolation prize though he did help build a winning team in the early 90's and did make it to 4 SBs something that some franchises haven't done more than once....if that. R.I.P Mr. Wilson.

Sadly, that organization needs to be moved.

Sad to see. I had a neighbor when I lived in South Florida who worked for him. My neighbor told him what a big football fan I was and such, and that year he sent me a Buffalo Bills Christmas card signed. I still have it locked away in a trunk somewhere.

We'll see soon enough. Apparently the franchise is going to the highest bidder.

He did great things for pro football though.

Deepest condolences from the Raider Nation, Mr.Wilson helped keep the AFL upstart Raiders afloat so many years ago. Good man. RIP

My mother-in-law once wrote a scathing letter to him because he didn't come over to fans after a game once shortly after an increase in taxes to help pay for stadium improvements. He responded saying it was the meanest letter he ever received (which is shocking haha) and to never attend a game again. Funny piece of sports memorabilia to have with his signature and Bills logo and all that.

That being said, I live near Buffalo and know how big of an impact he had on the area. Huge contributor to the what the NFL is today. Hopefully the team stays in Buffalo.
