What the hell is Vic Black doing on this team? I watched him today! He couldn't strike out a little league hitter. We sent Montero back to the Minors and now we're gonna send Familia too? Come on! This guy doesn't belong in the majors.

I have not read anything or heard anything legit that says Black will be on the 25-man roster and Familia will not.

I'm expecting Alderson to produce a very good BP this year after 3 epic fails.

Familia has been far better than Black and so was Montero. This guy hasn't shown me anything.

Montero is not a bp option. He is a future 3 in the rotation at least

This. Black was a front-runner but didn't get it done. Next guy up. Familia has pitched good. Don't know where this "Familia isn't going to make it" crap comes from.

The bullpen has an incredibly high ceiling and incredibly low floor. Too many ifs to take out certain guys and throw in others

I think Valverde was a good signing. A nice veteran presence. He was a very good closer before he had one bad season. Then everybody started writing him off. If anyone can be a an efficient closer other than Parnell it will be Valverde and not Black. I mean everyone is entitled to a bad season. Ike Davis had three consecutive bad seasons and Terry Collins still thinks he's the next Lou Gehrig.

There had been talk about moving either Montero or Mejia to the bullpen. It would be probably be a good way to develop a starting pitcher. Frankly I think the time is now for Mejia. He should be the no. 5 starter.

When Montero comes up it will be in the starting rotation for all intents and purposes. As for Mejia, I would like to see him as the 5th SP as well but if Dice-K struggles out of the gate, Mejia presumably becomes that next option. I think they want Lannan in the pen as that second lefty and Torres to remain the long man.
