    Rumor: Billups as new GM?

Would anyone be opposed to replacing Dumars with Chauncey Billups? I mean, do the Pistons organization know to be GM being a former NBA Player is not a requirement? IDK...I just want some analytical/advance stats guy...who? IDK, I wouldn't bring out the pitchfork if Billups is the new GM but I think more qualified guys are out there.

Ugh, can we get a guy that knows what he's doing?

Hire someone real and let chauncey be his assistant.

No, let the guy start off under an established GM, learn then he should pursue that career. I'm tired of being a mediocre team, I want established staff, starting from the coach all the way to the GM.

Even though it hasn't seen much dividends I want to see the Pistons go like how the Lions have their front office set up, have both a GM of Operations who is the basketball mind and a CEO who takes care of the business side of things.

Billups seems like a very good basketball mind but I would hope that the team doesn't make him GM right away not until he proves himself as an assistant.
    Favourite Teams:

Boston Red Sox: 46-52, games this week vs. Blue Jays (4), Rays (3)
Indianapolis Colts: Good draft and off-season so far.
Looking for new NBA team to cheer for
Ottawa Senators: 37-31-14, season over, free agency begins this week.

    No thank you.

OTOH, he's been hurt for the last 3 seasons so he's had time to watch every player in the NBA up close from the bench.

I don't think gores is beholden to the 04 pistons team as much as Dumars might be. Whether that's good or bad is irrelevant because it's Tom's money.
