    Falcons sign DL Tyson Jaskson

Falcons agreed to terms with DE Tyson Jackson, formerly of the Chiefs, on a five-year, $25 million contract.

It's a massive commitment for a former first-round bust, but Jackson is coming off a career year. The Falcons are going on a spending spree as they follow through on their word to toughen and reinforce one of the league's softest defensive lines. He was drafted by new Falcons assistant GM Scott Pioli. The Falcons had to add bodies up front, but Jackson could prove to be one of the more regrettable signings of Day 1.

Solid pickups. Still need a safety and pass rusher.

This screams that we're running a 3-4. Jackson has been thought of as a pure 3-4 DE since he was drafted. Still nice to get another big body because Babineaux is purely a gap shooter. These role players aren't sexy pick-ups but we need these guys.

These guys will tie up the middle, while we shoot the outside LB's to rush the QB in our new 3-4 defense. I see us getting Mack with our 6th pick in the draft now. Still a lot of holes to fill.

Me too. We didn't even sniff at the tackle market which means Dimitroff was probably sincere about Baker being our LT and either we draft a RT in the middle or make it a Holmes/Johnson competition. I'm not against that either. Our interior is solid and Baker is good enough. On the flip side, our pass rush is not good enough. At all. Like... Not anywhere near being minimally acceptable. Most of the non-Falcons world doesn't seem to understand that. Baker isn't good, but our pass rush isn't even good enough to be considered bad.
