Ervin Santana signed with the Braves

    David O'Brien ‏@ajcbraves 39 min
#Braves will announce Ervin Santana signing this morning at Champion Stadium.
    Mark Bowman ‏@mlbbowman 4 min
Ervin Santana already has a locker in the #Braves clubhouse. Official announcement will be made within an hour.
With all these injuries to Braves pitchers I think is great to find a pitcher of this caliber so deep into spring training, I hope is a one year deal.

was hoping he would pick Toronto, but this is probably a better fit for Santana. He needs to keep his value up and pitching in the NL is better than in the AL East.

dammit, I want him with the rockies. we have maybe 1 starter, compared to braves have like at least 3-4.

Wish Rockies were more like the Broncos, were they just wanna win. at least we have Butler and Gray... can rockies throw a man a bone, this team needs help. they have 1 starter in Brett anderson, and sometimes Del la rosa.

Kind of glad the O's didn't get him, they should be spending that 14 million on keeping Davis and Machado here long and super long term respectively.

This is a one year deal. It would have had no baring on Davis' long term contract.

Orioles definitely should have gone after him.

Good for for the Braves, I like it.

I do not mind this at all. I just wish we were going to have a healthy meds and beachy to start off the season. Can you imagine a rotation like that....

    1. JT
    2. Santana
    3. Minor
    4. Meds
    5. Beachy

The order doesn't really matter to me honestly, I just feel like this is the year JT really flourishes. Its not bad though Beachy will likely be ready soon and alex wood is a solid Lefty with potential that can step in as our #5

14 million is 14 million when it comes to Peter Angelos. I understand it is a 1 year deal and it wouldn't affect future payroll, however, you don't know Peter Angelos like us O's fans. Haha I will give him kudos for ponying up for Ubaldo.

machado is under contract until liek 2018 right now, so i wouldn't worry there. besides, how does 1 year of sanatan effect already signed davis and machado for this year?

i dont think peter angelos has a spending problem, his problem is spending it on the right players

    Good for the Braves

Will Santana repeat what he did last year though, or will be go back to 2o12?

And will he be given a QO in a year from now?

    Interesting development either way

    1/14.1 is my understanding.
