According to Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes, with Sunday's injury to Kris Medlen the Braves could take another look at Ervin Santana.
Santana ignited a bidding war on Saturday when he announced that he was now looking to sign a one-year deal, and the Braves would be a nice fit for both sides if Medlen looks to be sidelined for any significant amount of time. Stay tuned, as it may still take a few days for his market to fully play out. Mar. 9 - 6:23 pm et

I thought the Braves would stay in house.

Kind of surprised myself, until I read about him willing to accept a one year deal, which is perfect for the Braves.

Hate to lose that 1st round draft pick.

At the end of the season, the rotation could be:

    Teheran
    Minor
    Santana
    Floyd
    Wood

Damn, is really a shame if we miss Medlen, I'm still hoping is nothing serious, but with the way the Braves are looking for alternatives I'm expecting the worse.

    Braves looking at Ervin Santana?

We need Santana regardless. Beachy wasn't going to stay healthy and hale's numbers in the minors don't look that impressive.

I see your point.... However if the Braves just plan on signing him for one year and tagging him at the end of it to get the compensation pick, it takes the sting out of it for me

    Braves looking at Ervin Santana?

Actually on that note why is Cody Martin getting no shot?

well, you can't bank on the Braves to offer him the qualifying offer, He needs to have a good year for the Braves to do it, and even if that's the case I'm sure Santana and other players will think twice before rejecting it.

His 14 ERA over four appearances probably makes them think he needs a little more seasoning.
