    Sano to miss 2014

He's going to have TJ surgery. Hopefully, it won't cause him to lose his strong arm. It shouldn't affect his hitting at all.

Such a bummer still.. Loses a year of maturing as a player and developing those skills.

His skill is with his bat. This shouldn't affect his biggest skill.

As with any Minnesota sport, just when you think you've got something you get shot in the head.

They should trade Buxton right now before he gets a mysterious/crazy injury and they get screwed some more. You know it's going to happen lol

Key word there is shouldn't. He will probably come back with confidence or mental issues like Liriano and become an after thought. I know that's probably worst case scenario but as Twins fans we should be used to it after the issues with injuries we have had.(Mauer, Morneau and Liriano etc..)

I get that every sport we've ever watched based out of Minnesota has ended poorly. I get that. But don't let your negative MN sports mines think this is the end for Sano.

If he was a pitcher this would be a crap shoot. It might affect his + arm at 3rd base - I'll give you that. As far as affecting his elite power bat... Nope. More strikeouts and fewer walks from a year less of seeing at bats - sure, that's a possibility too.

If anyone benefits from this injury, its Deibinson Romero. He looked pretty good out there today. Lets see how he does this spring training. He could push Plouffe for the 3B job.

This and it sounds like Buxton doesn't look that great in spring games.

Buxton wasn't expected to make the roster out of spring training. Because of this - we really shouldn't care about how his spring training went.

He'll probably be a September call up then remain with the club. Springer with the Astros had a better shot of making his club out of Spring training than Buxton.

Honestly, I don't even think Buxton's season (beyond development) matters. If he is on fire, the Twins will probably wait until September. If he struggles, the Twins will probably wait until September.

Sano is a bigger concern but none of us will know about him for a while now. TJ on a fielder while a bit more rare than a pitcher doesn't have the same length of recovery time as a pitcher. Fingers crossed there...
