His tackling isn't that bad IMO. The problem is that because he never makes any "splash" plays he only stands out on the times he ****s up so it hurts his reputation as a player. He's limited physically but he's so smart and knows how to play within the system so he doesn't really **** up a lot either. The problem is BB has to cater his system to hide Gregory from being put in situations where his lack of athleticism/size can be exposed which is difficult to do with all the creative ways offenses can attack now. If we had a player who could handle some more of those situations it would really open up some creative coverage possibilities for BB.

Ideally it would have made sense to hold onto him until we had a better replacement in the bag. Gregory isn't ideal but you could do a lot worse than him at the same time. But because of the things I mentioned above I think BB cut him early out of respect so he can more easily find work elsewhere.

My gut feeling is that we're going to sign Chris Clemons from Miami for the S spot next to McCourty (Harmon stays in his role as the backup at both spots).

I remember seeing more than one player running right through him along the sidelines for big yardage...he couldn't get even get them pushed OB.

I think Wilson and Sopoaga are the other obvious cuts or at least should be IMO.

Would love to add Calvin Pryor in rd 1. IMO that's the biggest need we have willing we keep Vince as I suspect we will

I wasn't an anti Gregory guy but did think is was an area that wouldn't be difficult to improve. I do agree with HPF it would have been nice to have a replacement prior to his release. That led me to think either we do and he is on the squad already or we are pretty comfortable that who we want going to be available by FA or the DRAFT.

I read where some of the Pats DB's are working out with A Wilson in AZ.

Clemons would be IMO a very good addition at the right price. More size, speed and plays in the AFC east.

Can't say I was a big fan of him (and his contract) as a starter, but he'd be an excellent depth guy to have on a team. I'd love to have him back in a reduced role/salary if the market is too soft for him as a starter.

I still think that during the first 5-6 games last year he was in the top 20% of S in the league, but after he got hurt he wasn't the same, and he wasn't special prior to this year either. At his age/price he had to be let go.

Clemons is a good idea, so is a pick.

I don't think either Wilson will be here in the Fall. Adrian is sharpening his coaching skills IMO. Tavon was an interesting experiment, but he isn't going to cut it. BB should look for someone that can stick longer than the end of the rookie contract of TW.

Never realized there was so much ate for the guy. Its not like we can field superstars at every position. I liked him, wasnt great at anything but wasnt bad at anything, pretty good 4th starter of a secondary unit.
