No Free Agency/No Trades.....what would your team look like?

    Fun exercise.

If every player drafted/signed as an amateur had to remain with your team for their entire careers....what would your current roster look like?

    Cardinals
    C - Molina
    1B - Pujols
    2B - Wong
    3B - Carpenter
    SS - Ryan
    LF - Craig
    CF - Rasmus
    RF - Taveras
    Bench
    Kozma
    Adams
    Cruz
    Schumaker
    Descalso
    Jay
    Crisp
    Wilson
    Wallace
    Barton
    Freese

    Rotation
    Wacha
    Haren
    Lynn
    Miller
    Martinez

    Pen
    Motte, Rosenthall, Perez, Gregerson

Rotation is a little worse, lineup is a little better but pretty much the same team any way.

For fun, would your team be better, worse, the same....and what would your payroll be?

No Free Agency/No Trades.....what would your team look like?

Mets would look very similar to what they look now.

    C-Jesus Flores
    1b-Ike Davis
    2b-Daniel Murphy
    SS-Jose Reyes
    3b-David Wright
    LF-Nelson Cruz
    CF-Carlos Gomez
    RF-Juan Lagares

    SP-Matt Harvey
    SP-A.J. Burnett
    SP-Jon Niese
    SP-Dillon Gee
    SP-Jenrry Mejia

    CS-Bobby Parnell

    Pirates
    C - Tony Sanchez
    1B - Aramis Ramirez
    2B - Neil Walker
    3B - Pedro Alvarez
    SS - Jordy Mercer
    LF - Starling Marte
    CF - Andrew McCutchen
    RF - Jose Bautista

    C - Ryan Doumit
IF - Steve Pearce, Jeff Keppinger, Chase d'Arnaud
OF - Gregory Polanco, Nate McLouth, Robbie Grossman, Rajai Davis

    SP - Gerrit Cole
    SP - Bronson Arroyo
    SP - Paul Maholm
    SP - Jameson Taillon
    SP - Brandon Cumpton

Depth Starters - Chris Young, Kyle McPherson, Phil Irwin

    Bullpen
RH - Matt Capps, Duke Welker, Vic Black, Brad Lincoln, Jared Hughes
LH - Justin Wilson, Tony Watson, Tom Gorzellanny, Mike Gonzalez, Sean Burnett, Zach Duke

Lineup looks familiar and that OF is something else. Bench outside of the reserve outfielders is quite terrible. Rotation is problematic but with the two young guns might not be awful and the bullpen well we can throw an awful lot of left handers at you.

As long as you get to keep your own Free agents ie Cano, Rivera, Petiet, this team is still easily middle of the pack. You wanna see bad, check the angels without the Trumbo trade.

Are you allowed to keep your free agents? Because that makes a creates big difference for the dodgers, if they are allowed to keep them, then Ellis and Punto are still on the team, but the bull pen looks a little different.

both of them are retired, so they wouldn't help. lets not forget the rest of the yankees roster though. that means no tex, no mccann, no baletran, no ellsbury, none of their pitchers except nova (are we counting tanaka?). currently right now, they would be really really bad

You'd get Austin Jackson back! PLUS Jeff Karstens and that pitcher from Princeton who's name I can't spell...I think he's pitched for the Pirates and Nats recently...Orendohrf or something. PLUS Jesus Montero...What could go wrong?

The rules as laid out above are...

you only keep the players your team originally drafted (and had to have signed with your team) or signed as amateur free agents. So for the Yankees, guys like Rivera/Cano (ammy free agent) count. But the Yankees don't get to claim Gerrett Cole, who didn't sign with them.

If a team has acquired a player via trade or free agency over the years, but aren't that players original team, then they don't get to have them (like the Cardinals extending Matt Holliday, he doesn't count).

the orioles would suck hardcore considering over half their core (Jones, Davis, Hardy, Tillman) came via trades, therefore, I will not participate here. Lol
