Is Magic eventually trying to buy the Lakers?

After buying the Sparks and getting himself back inside Staples Center, an interesting question is being proposed by Max and Marcellus right now.

Is Magic Johnson positioning himself to eventually buy the Lakers? Discuss.

Just get the guys together that bought the Dodgers. But unfortunately you know the Buss's are going to hold onto the Lakers with an iron death grip so it's probably not gonna happen.

Jerry Buss' six children own his 66 percent controlling interest in the Los Angeles Lakers collectively in a trust.
"The entity can't be split," said Bob Steiner on Monday. "The heirs do not own the team individually. It has to be collective."
The rest of the Lakers' ownership breakdown is: Ed Roski Jr. (3 percent), Patrick Soon-Shiong (4 percent) and Philip Anschutz (27 percent).
Anschutz has included his stake in the Lakers as part of his sale of AEC, which is currently being negotiated.

I just don't see the Buss family giving it up anytime soon. That TV deal was pure gold.

If the group that bought the Dodgers also bought the Lakers I'd sleep well at night.

He was a minority owner back then and sold his stakes to the richest man in LA.

Dude dont need to buy the Lakers. He still lives in the showtime era. Love the success, dont get me wrong. But there are other bright basketball minds besides Riley and Jerry West.

All Magic needs to do is buy 1-5% of the team, become a representative of the Lakers and go out there and start recruiting players! It would be a smart business move IMO, I mean come on would you guys sign with the Lakers if Jim/Kupcake/Pringles came to you? or Magic?

Imagine if..Magic (Owner), Jerry West (GM), Phil Jackson (VP or HC), if only..

If we want to become the timberwolves than sure. I would rather avoid that.
